What is the true purpose of spirituality?

This is a question I've been reflecting on deeply.

Many people seek spirituality because life has become difficult. Some pray for better health. Some hope for a breakthrough in business. Some seek protection, blessings, or relief from suffering.

There is nothing wrong with that. When we are hurting, it is only natural to look for hope.

But the more I walk this path, the more I ask myself:

Is spirituality meant only to change our circumstances, or is it meant to change us?

The wisdom of Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddhism has inspired me with one common truth:

A person's character, virtue, compassion, wisdom, and integrity are the true foundations of a blessed life.

Confucianism teaches us to cultivate moral character.

Taoism teaches us to live in harmony with the Dao, with humility and balance.

Buddhism teaches us to transform our minds, cultivate compassion, and understand the causes of suffering.

Different teachings, yet they all point toward the same direction:

True transformation begins within.

As a spiritual practitioner, I believe there is a place for blessings, rituals, prayers, and spiritual support. They can bring comfort, hope, and strength during life's most difficult moments.

But I also believe that the greatest blessing is not simply having our problems disappear.

The greatest blessing is becoming the kind of person who responds to life with greater wisdom, compassion, resilience, and virtue.

When our character changes, our choices change.

When our choices change, our lives begin to change.

And perhaps, within the understanding of karma and cause and effect, our future also begins to change.

This is the path I hope to walk.

Not merely helping people overcome today's obstacles, but encouraging them to become stronger, wiser, kinder, and more compassionate human beings.

Because one day, external blessings may come and go.

But the virtues we cultivate become part of who we are.

That, to me, is the greatest blessing of all.

May we not only seek better luck, but also become better people. 🙏

Some days, I honestly wonder how I manage it all.

Running from meetings... Managing tenants... Handling projects... Being a mother... Helping clients... And when needed, answering those who seek me for spiritual guidance.

There are days I'm exhausted. Days when my schedule feels impossible. But somehow, I keep going because every person who reaches out has placed their trust in me.

Today, these messages reminded me why.
Years after our journey together, clients still take the time to update me about their lives, share their happiness, and thank me for simply being there. As a salesperson, there is no greater reward than knowing someone remembers how you made them feel.

I've always believed that people can tell when you genuinely serve from your heart. It's never about doing the bare minimum or calculating what you'll get in return. When your intentions are sincere, trust naturally follows.

From my own spiritual journey, I also believe that the unseen is drawn to sincerity and compassion. Helping isn't just about those we can see—sometimes it's also about bringing comfort, peace, and closure in ways that are difficult to explain.

I'm grateful for every lesson, every person I've met, and for the ability to serve in different ways.
If I can make even one life a little lighter, then every busy day has been worth it.

Thank you to everyone who continues to trust me. I never take it for granted. ❤️

Who is Mazu? 妈祖

Mazu is revered as the Goddess of the Sea and a protector of all who face life's storms. Born as Lin Moniang, she is remembered not for seeking power or wealth, but for her compassion, courage, and unwavering dedication to helping others.

Her character is often described as:

🌊 Compassionate yet strong
🌊 Fearless in the face of danger
🌊 Protective of the vulnerable
🌊 Humble and selfless
🌊 Disciplined and principled
🌊 Persistent and steadfast

Rather than destroying her enemies, legends tell that Mazu transformed them into protectors through wisdom and virtue. Her strength came not from force, but from courage, compassion, and righteousness.

Many devotees describe her presence this way:
"Mazu is loving, but she expects us to behave properly."

To many devotees, Mazu represents a loving mother who guides, protects, and watches over those navigating the uncertainties of life.

"When others fear the storm, Mazu walks into it to bring people safely home." 🙏🌊✨

As her messenger, I can totally feel her traits. She is very precise, persistent, steadfast and super discipline. She take no tolerance on misbehaving. She has certain expectations and standards in things to be done. And she expect one to be respecting life.

If I had to summarize Mazu in few sentence:
"A fearless protector who serves others with unwavering compassion and responsibility."

Her strictness is protective, not authoritarian - "She is loving, but she expects you to behave properly."

Long long time ago, I used to practice my healthcare at one of the hospitals in Johor. This was 1 of my favorite spots during my practice as it can overlook Singapore - a nice view. The department is located on the hill. Separated from the main building.

One day a young boy around 16s to 17s, was vomiting blood - projectile. He collapsed. It was an emergency situation. Blood pressure low, heart beat dropping eventually the heart stopped.

As usual I will never give up. Despite there were senior Dr's - they said they can't do much. Cause loosing blood too much, too fast. Only way to help him is transfuse blood to him while performing life saving.

I literally fought with the Dr because the senior Dr said her book mentioned can only transfuse 3 pints of saline. Beyond is not advisable. 🤬🤬🤬

I refuse to let go of this boy. I alone single handed inserted more needles to transfuse saline solutions. It's a way to further dilute the blood while waiting for help to arrive, to transfer him to the main building. Imagine I need to wait for ambulance and people to transport the blood.

In that 90 mins, many things happened. And the Drs refused to trust me that time saying this boy can't be save.

After 90mins I successfully handed over this boy to ICU and passed over this case for better management.

Books can be guidance but may not be practical at some moments. Sometimes it's very much up to us how we want to use these guidance or knowledge and the wisdom we cultivated during our learning (well basically my wisdom were my years of experience in healthcare).

When we open up and understand how an ecosystem work we would be able to apply things in our life better.

There's no right nor wrong. Some felt that's the best - like what the senior Dr did. What if there's another way we can do things. And the result would be better and more meaningful..

End of the day my goal is to save or help every life I encounter if I'm given the chance. And I will not give up so easily. Hence that goes same in Persatuan Penganut Wufu Ruyi 五福如意奉献者协会

After the Lunar New Year Chor 8 prayer ceremony to the Jade Emperor, Persatuan Penganut Wufu Ruyi 五福如意奉献者协会 visited Hao Dak Old Folks Home KL on Sunday, 8 March 2026 to donate the funds raised from the devotees’ offering sets.

With the added generosity of kind-hearted devotees and good Samaritans, this act of giving brought warmth and care to the elderly residents.
