Did you know that Labour Day began as a movement to push against excessive working hours? Workers then fought for fairer working conditions and rhythms that were more sustainable.

It is only fitting then, that we take a moment to consider rest in today’s post.

Matthew 11:28
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.“

Check out these Kodak moments from your POV at Easter Retreat 📸

The brief was simple: Capture your surroundings on the Charmera, then pass it on. We wanted to capture the essence of community in rest mode.

What came back were moments that were unfiltered and full of stories. From them, we’ve picked 20 that encapsulate the Retreat.

More stories coming soon. Meanwhile, what was your favourite memory from Retreat?

Ready to take a small step back?

Maybe you didn’t mean to drift.

Maybe life got busy.

Maybe church just became complicated, tiring, or hard to navigate.

Well friends, IT’S TIME TO CHANGE THAT.

🔶 Are you struggling to reconnect with …?
🔶 Finding it hard to read the Bible on your own?
🔶 Or unsure where to start when it comes to finding the right community?

We help people read the Bible in community and approach Scripture from a place of curiosity. We’ve run Bible Reading Groups consistently over 3 years and across 2 countries and found the most effective and engaging sessions were conversational, simple to catch on and inviting.

So if you are…

1. Curious about reading and engaging the Bible in community

2. Open to listening and learning diverse perspectives

You are the kind of people we started for and we would LOVE for you to experience our stripped back version of Bible Reading in community.

What you can expect at a Bible Reading Group?

• Doors open from 7pm
• Dinner starts 7:15pm
• 75 minute Bible Reading Session ending at 9:45pm
• Leave on time or hang back if you’d like

🤍 If this resonates with where you’re at right now, you can find more info via the link in our bio

P.S. If you know anyone who might find joining a church overwhelming as a first step, we’re starting the Alpha Course on Feb 22, and sign-ups are now open. We won’t be running it again for another year, so don’t wait for the “perfect time.” If someone comes to mind, send them the link.

More details are in our bio, or feel free to DM us if you’d like to chat further.

I never thought to ask myself these questions…

Will I care about the goals I set a year from now?
Ten years from now?
Eighty years from now?

As I sit here doing my last devotion of the year, I can’t help but feel incredibly grateful although there’s no 2025 Wrapped post this year (my brain hasn’t quite caught up with the fact that today is already the last day 😮‍💨). But maybe this year wasn’t meant to be summed up by highlights.

Maybe it wasn’t just about what we did, but who He placed around us. The conversations, new friendships, the questioning and slow and unhurried moments of growth…all signs of a God who is present and intentional in deepening our faith through community.

As you look toward the year ahead, ask yourself:
What decisions and habits will actually move you toward what lasts?

Maybe it’s taking the first step and circling back to church again.
Maybe it’s deciding ahead of time what portion you’ll give to God.
Or perhaps it’s opening the Word more often and not doing it alone.

My hope is that you’ll find a church community you enjoy being part of, because over time, it’s often the people around us who help carry us through the long, quiet work of transformation and spiritual formation. 🫶🙏🏼

With love,
Mike & Viola

This Christmas, our beloved Christmas town Journeyville returned 🎄✨

✨ Merry Christmas ✨

Wow… WHAT. A. YEAR. it’s been 💛 To God be the glory.

Walking through the book of Acts together, laughing *so much* at Bible Reading Groups, playing pranks all year, meeting new faces, forming new friendships, having those tough but important conversations, and quietly growing in ways that may not always be visible.

I just want to say THANK YOU. Thank you for showing up, no matter when you came in, for staying the course, for choosing to circle back, for being part of this little family, and for trusting God and trusting each other. You make this journey of faith full of honesty, hope, and all the real *tough* stuff.

Here’s a little something from us, a Starbucks treat 🎄☕️we love to gift every Christmas.

We hope it’s a special moment for you to remember: you are loved, you are seen, and you’re part of God’s incredible plan.

As you close the year, please take care of yourself, stay safe, look after your health, and get plenty of rest. We’re starting again early January! 💛

Love always,
Mike & Viola

“Soaking” in a Christian worship context usually means intentionally resting in God’s presence without rushing, letting worship music, silence, and prayer draw you to Him.

It’s less about “doing” and more about “being”, simply lingering before God.

So, if you’re in KL this Saturday, and you’re in need of a little soaking in the Lord, we’re going to be gathering for a time of unplugged worship, contemplative prayer & holy communion.

This event is open to your family and friends, feel free to bring them along.

If you would like to RSVP dm “WORSHIP” and we’ll send you an invite. 🙌

Hope to see you there!

P.s we’d be sharing snippets on our stories for those of you who can’t make it. Do keep us in your prayers 🙏🏼

🔊 CHURCH NEWS | Oct – Dec

“Those who had been scattered preached the word wherever they went.” (Acts 8:4)

The story of Acts reminds us: the early church didn’t grow by staying safe in one place, it grew because ordinary believers carried the gospel into new spaces.

As we enter the last 3 months of 2025, our prayer is that God would move you from comfort to courage, from familiarity to fresh faith, and from gathering to being sent. 💛

🥘 BIBLE & DINNER
We’re journeying through the Book of Acts, and the conversations have been diverse, heartfelt, and eye-opening. If you’d like to join before the year ends, check the dates on the calendar and go to the Bible Reading Group form to learn more.

🎶 WORSHIP NIGHT
Our final one for 2025! We’re going all out, with a Journey-style dinner, extended fellowship, and unplugged worship & prayer. Scroll to the end for details.

🎄 CHRISTMAS @ JOURNEYVILLE
Every December, we pause our regular rhythm and wrap up the year together, thanking God for growth and challenges, new friends, highs and lows. This year, we’re bringing back Christmas @ Journeyville and it’s set to be more festive than ever! Save the date, and think about who you might want to invite. More details coming soon!

As the finish the year strong, may we remember: God doesn’t just gather us, He also sends us. 💛
