The Klang India Muslim Mosque has with its own history since 1904, has been built and administered by the Indian Muslim community of Hanafi Mazhab (religious jurisprudence) whom previously migrated from Tamil Nadu, South India. An Indian Muslim merchant, namely R.M. Pakir Mohamad began to administer the mosque during that time. In the 1920s, the site & administration of this mosque has been given
officially to a well-known Indian Muslim merchant; Haji R.E. Mohamed Kassim JP by the 5th Sultan of Selangor State, Sultan Ala'eddin Suleiman Shah ibni al-Marhum Raja Muda Musa (1898 - 1938). He (Haji R.E. Mohamed Kassim JP) is the Head of the Indian Muslim community (Association Al-Hasanatul Jariatul Islameya) at the time and is also the main administrator of this mosque. He died in 1931 and he was buried next to the mosque with approval of Sultan of Selangor. After 1931, this mosque has been administered by the Indian Muslim merchants of companies such as R.E. Mohamed Kassim & Co.; Mohd Ismail Ghany & Co.; K.A. Peer Mohamed & Co; A. Jamal Mohamed & Co, K.E. Mohd Ali & Co, Yaakob & Yusof & Co. and others. In 1973 the mosque was rebuilt (3rd phase) and officially opened in the following year by the 7th Sultan of Selangor DYMM Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Ibni Hishamussin Alam Shah (1960-2001). After the 4th Phase (rebuilding), this mosque was renamed Masjid India Muslim Tengku Kelana down after it was given by His Royal Highness Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Al-Haj when he left for the completion of the dust pollute the Opening Ceremony of the Reconstruction South India Klang Mosque and launch celebration Maal Hijrah 1431H Selangor State on Friday , 18th December, 2009 equal to the 1st of Muharram, 1431H.
