Greetings to everyone,
Vanakam , Om namo Narayana ,
Let me give a brief explanation on the origins of Sri Andal and her Thiruppavai . Andal was discovered as a baby by her foster father, Periazhwar in his garden in a town called Srivilliputhur in Tamilnadu, India. Andal grew up with intense devotion to Lord Krishna and she aspired to wed the lord. Sri Andal wanted to celebrate her Lord thus , she sang His praises in many verses and performed penance to attain Him. The Thiruppavai is one such work in which her worship manifested itself into history. Eventually the lord does come forth to marry her. The Thirupavvai has thirty verses for the thirty days of this holy month , dedicated to the worship and praise of
Lord Narayanan/lord Krishna . In order to honour the Lord, Sri Andal strived to carry out her first Nombu (divine mission) .The Nombu included a group of ten girls, invited personally join her penance in alluding to the Lord in his many glorious forms.
Subsequently, Sri Andal and the team woke up the Lord and his consort. In his presence , she then spoke humbly to the Lord.
" In the next, seven births that we may take , we should have the privilege to have an everlasting relationship with You ( Lord Naryanan /Lord Krishna in all of your avatars and we should offer worship only to You." . It can be seen that Sri Andal has unwavering faith in Lord Krishna at all times. We should all strive to achieve that level of devotion in our heart, soul and mind.
In conclusion, all devotees who worship the Lord during this holy month will forever obtain his grace. Blessings from the lord will follow.
To follow in the footsteps of Sri Andal , Sri Sundararaja Perumal Temple Klang is conducting vishesha poojas during this holy month of Margazhli (16/12/2023 - 14/1/2024,) followed by a recital of Thirupavvai Pasuram. Below are the programme details for the above mention poojas'
