2026 Vassa Candle, Joss sticks and Food Fund

The purpose of this fund is to offer candles and joss sticks to 21 Temples under the care or support of Bhante Huat Upasanto. Besides, this fund will also be used to help to support the Vassa Retreat Resident Monks of these temples by providing them with some food and transport expenses. These temples are located in Karen hilltribe villages in Mae Hong Son, Tak and Chiangmai provinces in West Thailand.

If any devotee wishes to sponsor a set of Candles + Joss sticks and food for any particular temple during Vassa, you are most welcome to do so. It is THB20K (or RM2,600)/temple, any free-will dana amount is accepted too.

2/4/26 after breakfast in Wat Siri Hui Manam

Malaysia devotees went to the football field with Bhante to kick start the 2nd day of football tournament. Bhante with his kind intention in promoting physical and mental well-being and harmonious among the youth in various nearby villages, thus he organized a bi-annual inter-village football tournament, with 24 teams participating this round. Bhante said the youth will be busy with football practicing instead of spending time on unwholesome activities. The cash prizes and trophy cost for each tournament is THB 20,000. First prize receives THB 10,000, second prize THB 5,000 and third prize THB 2.500, and the remaining THB 2.500 is used to purchase the trophy. Maha Sadhu to Bro Thomas from Singapore for donating THB 10,000, and Bhante drawn another THB 10,000 from the Samanera Fund for this event.

*2026 SAMANERA PROGRAMME FUND*

The Samanera Programme is an annual programme conducted by Bhante Huat Upasanto which offers the young Karens an opportunity to become samaneras /samaneris. Some of them have extended their monastic training in Bangkok. Hopefully some of them will return to their villages and help to spread the Buddha's teaching there.

This fund will be opened from 15 January 2026 to 15 March 2026.

This fund will also be used for the offering of food to the participants of this programme.

The Samanera programme will commence on 31st March 2026.
