Salah satu pengajaran pertama yang perlu dipelajari oleh seorang kanak-kanak ialah pengajaran tentang ketaatan. Sebelum dia cukup dewasa untuk berfikir, dia boleh diajar untuk taat.

Kerja pendidikan di rumah, jika ia ingin mencapai semua yang Tuhan rancangkan, menuntut ibu bapa menjadi pelajar yang rajin dalam Kitab Suci. Mereka mesti menjadi pelajar Guru yang agung. Hari demi hari, hukum kasih sayang dan kebaikan mesti ada di bibir mereka. Kehidupan mereka mesti mendedahkan rahmat dan kebenaran yang dilihat dalam kehidupan Teladan mereka. Kemudian kasih sayang yang disucikan akan mengikat hati ibu bapa dan anak-anak bersama-sama, dan belia akan membesar dengan teguh dalam iman dan berakar umbi serta berlandaskan pada kasih Tuhan.”

*Agama Keluarga Ditakrifkan—* Agama keluarga terdiri daripada membesarkan anak-anak dalam asuhan & nasihat Tuhan. Setiap orang dalam keluarga hendaklah dipelihara oleh pengajaran-pengajaran Kristus, & kepentingan setiap jiwa hendaklah dijaga dengan ketat, agar Syaitan tidak menipu & memesongkan daripada Kristus. Inilah standard yang harus dicapai oleh setiap keluarga, & mereka harus bertekad untuk tidak gagal atau berputus asa. Apabila ibu bapa tekun & berwaspada dalam pengajaran mereka, & melatih anak-anak mereka dengan mata yang tertumpu kepada kemuliaan Tuhan, mereka bekerjasama dengan Tuhan, & Tuhan bekerjasama dengan mereka dalam menyelamatkan jiwa anak-anak yang demi mereka Kristus telah mati.

Ajaran agama adalah lebih daripada sekadar pengajaran biasa. Ini bermakna kamu hendaklah berdoa bersama anak-anakmu, mengajar mereka cara mendekati Yesus & memberitahu-Nya semua keinginan mereka. Ini bermakna kamu harus menunjukkan dalam hidupmu bahawa Yesus adalah segalanya bagimu, & bahawa kasih-Nya menjadikan kamu sabar, baik hati, namun tegas dalam memerintahkan anak-anakmu... Ibu bapa, janganlah agama kamu hanya sekadar pengakuan, tetapi biarlah ia menjadi kenyataan.

Formation of the Protem Committee for Gerempung Gerija SDA Sitak Julau

Julau, Sarawak – 06 December 2025

A historical milestone has been achieved for the Seventh-day Adventist congregations originating from the district of Julau, with the formal establishment of the Gerempung Gerija SDA Sitak Julau and the appointment of its Protem Committee. This initiative marks the first official central coordination body since the early growth of SDA membership in Julau beginning in the 1970s.

The launching programme was held at Gereja SDA Ng. Luau at 3:00 pm, attended by churches, representatives, and key leaders from various local congregations. With prayers of thanksgiving, unity, and commitment toward advancing the mission of the church, leadership appointments were formalised as follows:

The formation of Gerempung Gerija SDA Sitak Julau is grounded on the vision of establishing a unified platform to strengthen ministry collaboration among SDA congregations that originated from Julau, regardless of current geographical placement. The establishment is expected to enhance the following efforts:

Coordination of evangelism and community mission initiatives

Strengthening of Bible-based doctrinal discipleship

Welfare management of SDA members originating from Julau

Collaborative implementation of SDA fellowship and cultural religious customs

Structuring unified arrangements related to Christian rites and services

Planning for long-term community initiatives including designated SDA burial grounds

For the past five decades, church members originating from Julau have served and settled across various areas in Sarawak and beyond. The formation of this umbrella body symbolises strengthened unity, shared vision, and cohesive planning for ministry sustainability among future generations.

Speaking on behalf of the Protem Committee, the newly appointed Chairman, Bro. James anak Jalin, expressed gratitude for the trust given and emphasised the commitment to lead with integrity, unity, and accountability as foundational values.

“We believe that this platform will expand our capacity to serve, to disciple, and to maintain strong pastoral and relational support among all SDA families linked to Julau,” he said.

The Protem Committee will begin its initial term focusing on establishing operational documentation, financial structure, membership systems, and key ministry programmes for 2026 and beyond, ahead of an official constitutional appointment phase.
