对往生者最好的供养，不是别的，而是替他念一声佛。
The finest offering we can make for those who have passed on is not anything else, but a single chant of the Buddha’s name on their behalf.
8月29日这天，新山弘愿念佛会迎来了一年一度的中元念佛超荐法会。法会尚未开始，义工莲友已在道场里忙碌张罗，用一份份细心，迎接前来的每一个人。
On 29 August, the Hongyuan Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Johor Bahru held its annual Zhongyuan Nianfo Ceremony. Before it began, the volunteers were already busy preparing, welcoming each arrival with quiet care.
大众相继落座，殿堂里很快没有了空隙，只剩念佛的等待。有人带着思念，有人带着遗憾，也有人只是想为亲人做一点实在的事。
People took their seats one after another, and soon the hall had no space left — only the stillness of waiting to chant. Some came carrying longing, some carrying regret, and some simply wished to do something real for their loved ones.
净本法师在开示中说，为往生者念佛，靠的从来不是我们自己的力量，而是阿弥陀佛的愿力。我们只是把这句名号念出来，弥陀的功德就已经送到了。听到这里，许多人心里那份「不知道自己做得够不够」的忐忑，慢慢放下了。
In his dharma talk, Master Jingben shared that when we chant for the departed, it has never been our own strength that carries the merit, but the vow-power of Amitabha Buddha. We need only voice the name, and His merit has already reached them. Hearing this, the quiet worry of “have I done enough” gently settled in many hearts.
佛号响起时，整个殿堂庄严而安静。一句接一句，把每个人心里的话，都带到了佛前。临近尾声，大众合掌回向，声音沉稳而恳切——愿先亡蒙佛接引，愿在世者身心安康。法会在这份庄严中圆满落幕。
When the chanting began, the hall was solemn and still. One recitation after another, carrying the words in every heart to the Buddha. Towards the close, everyone joined palms in dedication, their voices steady and sincere — may the departed be received by the Buddha, may those still with us be well in body and mind. And so the ceremony came to its solemn completion.
一句佛号，替我们把所有说不出口的话，送到了至亲身边。
A single chant of the Buddha’s name delivers all that we cannot say, right to the side of those we hold dearest.
