Ipoh’s Jalan Masjid (formerly Hume Street) has long been a significant area for funeral services in this city.
Having accompanied countless families on their final journey, it has also witnessed the development and evolution of Ipoh’s funeral industry.
In the past, the common perception of funeral venues was largely limited to meeting basic needs. As times have changed, people have come to expect that a place to bid farewell to loved ones should also offer a warmer atmosphere, a more pleasant ambiance, and a more personalised, yet compassionate approach that fulfils the needs of bereaved families.
The arrival of Nirvana Asia Group in Ipoh and the choice to establish itself at Jalan Masjid was not merely to create Nirvana Center Ipoh, but with the greater hope of bringing a new approach to bereavement care services to this city.
We have conserved the Rex Theatre, a place that holds countless memories for the people of Ipoh, allowing this historic landmark’s presence to continue to serve this city in a new capacity. By redefining the memorial centre, parlour spaces and the overall environment, we hope that everyone who visits will feel warmth amidst the solemnity, and find a sense of solace amidst the farewell.
We believe that the emergence of a modern memorial centre not only enhances a physical space, but also enables more people to gain a fresh understanding of funerary rites, and rethink how farewells can be made more heartfelt and dignified.
