On 1st Aug, PDPM OMPH celebrated Commissioning Mass which was a truly meaningful and memorable occasion.
In his homily, Fr. Patrick Massang reminded us that Prison Ministry is one of the least known ministries in the Church, often unnoticed and overlooked. Much like the inmates we serve, this ministry rarely receives much attention. Yet, we are called to be the hands and feet of Christ, bringing God's love, mercy, and, most importantly, hope to those behind prison walls. Through our presence, we remind them that they are never forgotten and that God's love reaches every heart.
Members from St. Michael's, Ipoh, St. Jude, Gopeng, St. Mary's, Tapah, and St. Joseph's, Bidor, together with a future member from St. John the Baptist, Sungai Siput, came together to officially welcome our newly commissioned members. Although these members had already begun their mission and service last year, it was truly a blessing to witness them being formally commissioned before the Church community.
Following the commissioning during Mass, Fr. Joe shared that this was the first-ever commissioning ceremony for Prison Ministry to be held at OMPH, making the occasion even more significant and historic.
A heartfelt thank you to Celine, Raphael, and their amazing team for their dedication, hard work, and meticulous planning in making this Commissioning Mass such a beautiful and memorable celebration.
May the Lord continue to bless this ministry abundantly, touch more hearts to answer His call, and raise many more faithful members to serve in Prison Ministry.
Amen.
