🛕 Reopening of Dewan Sree Mariamman, Butterworth

The Penang Hindu Endowments Board (PHEB) is pleased to mark the reopening of Dewan Sree Mariamman, Butterworth, following its renovation.

The reopening ceremony was officiated this morning by YB RSN Rayer, Jelutong, Chairman of the Penang Hindu Endowments Board and Member of Parliament for Jelutong, together with YB Lim Guan Eng , Member of Parliament for Bagan.

Also present were YB Senator Dr Lingesh RA, Deputy Chairman of PHEB and Senator; YB Kumaran Krishnan, PHEB Commissioner and ADUN Bagan Dalam; fellow PHEB Commissioners; temple representatives; and members of the community.

The newly renovated hall will continue to serve as an important space for religious, cultural and community activities in Butterworth.

PHEB extends its appreciation to everyone who contributed towards the successful renovation and reopening of Dewan Sree Mariamman.

The Penang Hindu Endowments Board (PHEB) invites interested individuals to submit their applications to serve in the Temple Management Committees under the Board.

Those who are passionate about serving the Hindu community and contributing their time and experience towards the management and development of our temples are encouraged to apply.

The celebration will feature Bhajans, Fancy Dress Competition, Prize Giving Ceremony, Dhuni & Chanting, followed by Sri Krishna Abhishekam and Maha Aarti at midnight.

🪔❤️ A Day of Prayer, Love, Service & Togetherness ❤️🪔

The committee members of Arulmigu Sri Maha Mariamman Kovil, Queens Street, Penang together with Penang Hindu Endowment Board were blessed to welcome the children of Pertubuhan Rumah Kebajikan Seri Cahaya Pulau Pinang and Penang Shan Children's Home to our temple for a special day filled with prayers, love and togetherness.

🙏 A special prayer was conducted for the children, praying for their happiness, well-being and a bright future.

🪔 Together with the children and our devotees, we also offered Ghee Lamp Prayers for those affected by the tragedy in Nepal, praying for the safety of everyone, and for the safe return of our loved ones.

❤️ As part of this meaningful gathering, our Vice Chairman and his family lovingly sponsored and served Annathanam to everyone, prepared goodie bags for all the children, and presented a small financial token to each and every child.

These gestures may be small, but the love and intention behind them are immeasurable. ❤️

🇲🇾 We were also blessed to celebrate Malaysia's Independence Day together with the children, sharing happiness, food, prayers and beautiful moments as one community.

A temple is more than a place of worship.
It is where prayers become service, service becomes compassion, and compassion brings people together. 🪔❤️

🙏 May Sri Maha Mariamman bless every child with happiness, good health, strength and a bright future.

🇲🇾 Selamat Hari Kebangsaan ke-69! 🇲🇾

For the third consecutive year, the Penang Hindu Endowments Board (PHEB) was proud to be part of the Penang State-Level National Day Parade 2026 held this morning at Padang Kota Lama, George Town.

A strong contingent of 150 participants proudly marched together, led by YB RSN Rayer, Jelutong, Chairman of PHEB, and YB Senator Dr. Lingesh RA, Deputy Chairman of PHEB.

The contingent brought together participants from Temple Management Committees under PHEB, Malaysia Hindu Sangam Penang State Council, Hindu Dharma Maamandram, and Persatuan Silambam Porr Kalai Negeri Pulau Pinang, reflecting the unity and strong community spirit of Penang’s Hindu community.

It was a wonderful morning celebrating Malaysia’s independence alongside fellow Malaysians from all walks of life — united in the spirit of patriotism, harmony and togetherness. ❤️🤍💙💛
