George's is a historic, biblical church, located in the heritage area of Georgetown, Penang in Malaysia proclaiming the gospel and making disciples of all nations. Built in the 19th century, it is the oldest purpose built Anglican church in Southeast Asia. Throughout the years, St. George's has welcomed both local and international visitors seeking to know the truth of Christ proclaimed in this pl

ace of architecture, history, solace and comfort. The Church runs weekly services open to everyone, as well as various ministries to build our community. We had a fruitful and wonderful session with Deaconess Swee Bee during the Upper North Archdeaconry Women’s One-Day Retreat at St. George’s Church. In conjunction with the Penang Harmonico George Town visit, our church was delighted to welcome a group of visitors from the Butterworth Buddhist Association last Sunday.

Ms. Moira Toh, our Sunday School Superintendent, warmly received them, and we enjoyed a meaningful dialogue and interaction at the SGC Heritage Café, also known as the SGC Mission Hub, where Ps. Jony also shared and engaged with the group. Their questions ranged from church history to ecclesiology and the establishment of Protestant churches.

We emphasized that although we belong to different Christian denominations, we worship the one true God. Later, we brought them to observe our Sunday School before class began. They were curious about the lesson being taught, which was from John 1:1–18, highlighting that Jesus is both fully God and fully Man — the mystery of the Incarnation.

During the farewell gathering, the Church Wardens presented a memento to Padre Stephen as a token of appreciation for his faithful service, leadership, and ministry among us.
