Reflections from Dennis from our recent RISE Cares helping out Sayalay Susila at Appamada Vihari Sadhu!!

Following a period of personal loss and a sudden retrenchment, I recently sought out a mindfulness retreat to recalibrate my noisy and anxious mind. The experience was a powerful reminder of the value of meditation.

Through mindfulness hike and labor like gardening and sweeping, I practiced breaking down my overwhelming anxiety into small focused tasks. A key takeaway was a Dharma session on mental labeling. It was a technique to manage anxiety by identifying thoughts rather than being consumed by them.

I walked away not only with a clearer mind but with a renewed sense of connection after a wonderful networking dinner with the volunteer community.

Stay tuned for our March activities!

You don’t need someone else to bless your life.
Start with your actions.
Your speech.
Your choices.
That’s where real blessings grow. 🌱
At RISE, we do it together!

We reflected on the highest blessings and learnt that you don’t need someone else to bless your life.
Start with your actions.
Your speech.
Your choices.
At RISE, we do it together!
