*MHSBBC COUNCIL VISIT HEADMISTRESS SJK(T) AZAD*

06 May - The team from MHS Bukit Bendera Council paid a courtesy visit to Headmistress SJKT AZAD Viveka Ratna P. Sangritha at SJK(T) Azad, Jalan Kebun Bunga, Penang.

The team comprised Vice Chairman M.Sivaguru, Secretary VR.P. Letchumi, Asst. Secretary S.Bhavani & with 4 committee members.

On behalf of the MHS Bukit Bendera Local Council, Secretary VR.P. Letchumi garlanded with presented the annual report and looking forward to work together with school management.

Viveka Ratna P. Sangritha thanked the association for their visit and applause for the continued good community work done. The headmistress is looking forward to working together with MHSBBC for upcoming proposed programs.

Another proud moment for MHS Bukit Bendera Local Council for honoured 1 State Award & 2 State Appointment from *President, Malaysia Hindu Sangam SIVANERI CHELVAR SRI KASI SANGAPOOSHAN THANGA GANESAN AMN, ASA* in-conjunction with 49th Annual General Meeting of Malaysia Hindu Sangam Penang State Council at Continental Hotel, Georgetown, Penang, on 03rd May 2026.

1) *"Viveka Ratna"* awarded to Viveka Ratna P. Sangritha (Chairman of MHS Bukit Bendera Council)

2) Viveka Ratna Tharman Anandan PKT.PJK.PJM re-appointed as *"State Chairman"* of MHS Penang State Council 2026/27.

3) Ms.S.Gangainesh re-appointed as *"Assistant Secretary"* of MHS Penang State Council 2026/27.

MyManavar சமயம் & கலாச்சார வகுப்பு (Religious & Arts Classes) ❞ organised by Education Bureau, Malaysia Hindu Sangam Bukit Bendera Council

🔹 Collaboration: Ayiravaisyar Sri Meenakshi Sundaraeswarar Temple
🔹 Date: 2nd May 2026 (Saturday)
🔹 Time: 8.30 am - 11.00 am
🔹 Teachers & Volunteers: 7 pax
🔹 No of Students: 35 (SK, SJKT, SJKC & SMK)

Agathiyar: Arutperunjothi Agaval
Abhimanyu: Silambam

🔹 Student registration and attendance.
🔹 Breakfast provided by Dato Seri Selvakumar Shanmugam Chetty.
🔹 Start the class with morning prayers and Diyanam. Recite Guru Mantra, Gayathiry, Shivan, Hanuma and Vengadachalapathy Mantras.
💠 *Aggathiyar session conducted by Madam S.Selvi teacher.*
🔹 Objective:
▫️To understand that the individual soul is a spark of God (Arutperunjothi) and that the soul and God can exist as one.
🔹 What are the lesson taught:
▫️Children sung the mantharas with the teacher. Eg. Vakukkundam, Ainthu karathai.
▫️Revision on previous class regarding Vallal Peruman.
▫️Children watch video on the life history of Vallalar .
▫️Questions were asked on the life history of Vallalar.
▫️Children wrote notes on the topic.
🔹 Conclusion
▫️Session ended with recap and children recites the Agaval lines on Arutperunjothi.
💠 *Abhimanyu session conducted by Master P.Raveendram (Persatuan Silambam Pulau Pinang).*
🔹 Objective:
▫️Aims to develop comprehensive physical fitness, mastering self-defense techniques and enhancing mental discipline, focus, and confidence.
🔹The session began with our Chairman, Mr. Hari, who introduced the Silambam master P.Raveendram to the class and honored him.
🔹 Key Points Covered:
▫️Introduction to Silambam and its importance.
▫️Basic first steps in Silambam training.
▫️Teaching of basic striking techniques ( Kuthu Varisai).
▫️Introduction to staff spinning methods (Kambu Suthum Murai).
▫️Practice of combat footwork (Kaaladi) for competition training.

*ANNAN ON WHEELS REACH PENANG CHITRA POURNAMI DEVOTEES*

1st May - In conjunction with the sacred *"Chitra Pournami Festival"* , the Welfare Bureau MHS Bukit Bendera Local Council successfully served annathanam through " *Annam On Wheels* " initiative at Thaneermalai Shree Balathandayuthapani Devasthanam, Kebun Bunga Road, Penang.

Viveka Ratna Tharman Anandan PKT.PJK.PJM, Chairman of Malaysia Hindu Sangam Penang State Council, together with Welfare Chairman of MHS Bukit Bendera N.Thangarajan participated and supported this year annathanam event.

Devotees gathered in large numbers to receive blessings and partake in the nourishing meal, served with love and devotion.

Total of 1000 pax servings of vegetarian food were served .Our gratitude to our MHSBBC committee members & volunteers for their support & service.
