SAKYA PENANG was blessed and approved in 1992 by HE Luding Khenchen Dorjechang, the 75th throneholder of Ngor. It was on the support from the late Major Ooi Eng Huat that Khenchen Dorjechang accepted to be its spiritual Patron. Khenchen Dorjechang bestowed the center with the name 'Sakya Lhundrup Cho Ling' - Sakya Dharma Center of Spontaneous Accomplishment. The center then hosted many visits by R

inpoches, Khenpos and Lamas amongst them:-

Their Eminences Luding Khenchen, Ratna Vajra, Jetsun Kushok, Luding Khenpo, Thartse Khenpo, Tharig Tulku, Tiktsa Tulku, Dungyud Tulku, Serthug Rinpoche, Dzongtul Rinpoche, Khenpo Jamyang, Khenpo Tsewang, Khenpo Samdup. In 2005, it was officially registered as Penang Sakya Buddhist Association to better coordinate its activities and functions. Eminent Lamas have since conferred countless empowerments and teachings over the years.
