-The Significance of Saga Dawa-
The 15th day of the 4th Tibetan month marks the sacred anniversary of Shakyamuni Buddha’s conception, enlightenment, and Parinirvana. On this auspicious day, we invite everyone to remember the Buddha's boundless kindness, pray, and make deep aspirations.
Let us make the most of this sacred time by engaging in virtuous deeds—whether through mantra recitation, generosity, making offerings, lighting lamps, prostrating, or circumambulating stupas.
Through the blessings of the Three Jewels and our sincere practice, may we bring immense benefit to ourselves and others, and dedicate all merits to all sentient beings uddha, pray, and make aspirations!
Because the Buddha's conception, enlightenment, and Parinirvana all occurred on the 15th day of the 4th Tibetan month, the karmic results of any virtuous or non-virtuous actions committed on this day are multiplied hundreds of billions of times. It is a supreme and rare opportunity for purifying obstacles and accumulating merit.
Therefore, we should strive to engage in virtuous deeds throughout this month—and especially on this day—such as reciting mantras, practicing generosity, making offerings, lighting lamps, prostrating, circumambulating stupas, and more.
Through the blessings of the Three Jewels and our own practice, let us bring immense benefit to ourselves and others, and dedicate the merit to all sentient beings.
