Cheng Choo Tze 清珠寺 - Batu Maung

Cheng Choo Tze 清珠寺 - Batu Maung Cheng Choo Tze 清珠寺 ( Batu Maung Bottle Temple ) is one of the more unusual temples in Penang, as it is decorated with bottles of all types.

Cheng Choo Tze is located on the hill road that leads to Teluk Tempoyak. It was registered on 26 November, 2001. It is dedicated to the Taoist deity Jiu Long Xian Shi. The star attraction of Cheng Choo Tze Temple are the thousands of empty Chinese wine bottles that are used to decorated its walls. It could be that these bottles were placed here because the deity of Cheng Choo Tze Temple is fond of drinking.
