The temple management and committe of Sungai Tiram Sree Veeramuthu Maha Mariamman Temple, Bayan Lepas, Penang invites everyone to join May rmonth *Pournami Poojai at temple on *Friday 1st May 2026 at 8pm*.

Thee Chatti/Fire pot taking ceremony for Amma will be held.

Agenda:
5.30pm maha abishegam
7.30pm temple poojai
8pm special prayes for ambal
8.30pm fire pot start
After poojai dinner will be served .

*THEE CHATTI (AGNI ---FIRE POT Prayers )*

Thee Chatti is taken as 'nehrthi-kadan' (fulfilling vow), 'nandri-kadan' (thanksgiving), 'venduthal' (prayer of requisition) performed by devotees symbolizing their devotion.

This is a small semi-spherical pot made out of mud which is rubbed with Turmeric. The pot will be partially filled with rice husks and some margosa wooden pieces to make the fire in the pot. To ignite the fire inside the pot camphor will be used.

The Agni Pots will be carried by the devotees on their hands from their home to the prime temple of Shri Mariamman and the same will be left at the corner of the shrine after reaching there. Traditional music like Tappe will be accompanied by this ritual activity.

This is mainly done by devotees as a means of showing their gratitude to the GODDESS for fulfilling their wishes

The temple management of Sree Veeramuthu Maha Mariamman Temple, Sungai Tiram, Bayan Lepas,Penang invites everyone to the Pathinettam Padi Sri Karupanasamy Special Annual Pooja on Sunday, 3rd May 2026

Special Pooja(Homan, Abhisegam )will start from 8.30am onwards.

Both vegetarian and non vegetarian Lunch will be served.
