Empowering the Next Generation: Youth Formation Day at SPH!

​On July 5, 2026, the Parish of St. Paul the Hermit (SPH), Bestari Jaya, hosted a transformative Youth Formation Day themed "ABIDE" — rooted in the scripture, "Abide in me, and I in you" (John 15:4).

​The sessions were conducted by Rev. Fr. Cyril Mannayagam, with dynamic assistance from Seminarians Daniel and Xavier. Throughout the day, about 40 passionate youths gathered from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM for an inspiring, spirit-filled experience focused on faith, unity, and future leadership. Building on our recent leadership formation, this dedicated program gave our young people the tools and inspiration to anchor themselves in Christ and lead our community forward.

​Highlights of the day included:
​Spiritual Reflection & Insight: Deep spiritual teachings on remaining grounded in Christ amidst daily life and challenges.
​Interactive & Faith-Building Activities: Dynamic group activities designed to foster teamwork, encourage authentic discussion, and build strong community ties.

​Fellowship & Connection: A vibrant environment where young believers connected, shared their journeys, and built lasting friendships.

​A heartfelt thank you to Rev. Fr. Cyril, Seminarians Daniel and Xavier, event coordinator and every volunteer and participant who made this event a success! Let us continue to support and pray for our youth as they grow in faith and step into leadership.

Leadership Formation 2026: Embracing Servant Leadership

​About 41 parish leaders and dedicated parishioners gathered at the Church of St. Paul the Hermit (SPH) for a transformative Leadership Formation Session, centered on the inspiring theme of "Servant Leadership in Parish Life: Following the Example of Christ."

​Guided by the overarching motto "Ephphatha! — Listen | Discern | Serve | Witness," the sessions were conducted by Rev. Fr. Cyril Mannayagam, with dynamic assistance from Seminarians Daniel and Xavier.

​Throughout the day, participants explored key pillars of faith-based leadership, focusing on three essential themes:

​Jesus the Leader: Examining how Christ modeled humility, love, and sacrificial leadership.

​Leadership and Its Types: Understanding different leadership styles and their roles in building a collaborative parish community.

​Qualities of a Good Leader: Identifying the virtues of integrity, empathy, active listening, and spiritual discernment needed to serve others effectively.

​The formation concluded on a deeply spiritual note with the celebration of Holy Mass, Eucharistic Adoration, and Benediction, entrusting all our parish ministry leaders, PPC members, and youth to God's continued guidance and grace.
