Some of you might have seen the news reports and wondered, are The Bakers OK? YES! We are fine. While the elimination of a major cartel leader has led to some unrest as retribution to the government, we have not seen anything concerning. We are taking precautions, school is online Monday, and we are limiting mobility. If things change, we'll keep you updated.

But we ask you to pray! Pray thanking God that some really evil people are no longer able to operate as agents of the enemy. Please pray for those that are in danger, especially in Jalisco cities of Puerto Vallarta and Guadalajara. Pray for the areas of Baja California that are contested by cartels such as Tecate and Mexicali. Mostly though, we ask you to pray for God's Justice and Shalom peace here in Mexico. Pray that God would bring an end to violent corruption here and open the door for the Gospel in greater ways!

As things unfold here, we'll keep you updated. Blessings!

The Border crossing between San Diego and Tijuana is something to experience. There are more than 90,000 people crossing daily. The border has its own unique vibrant culture, the resilient people, the way faith and community are woven together here — it’s unlike anywhere we’ve ever been. From the beaches of Rosarito to the hills around Ensenada and Tijuana, we see daily reminders that God is at work everywhere.

But what many outsiders don’t see are the struggles — the economic hardship, the families holding on by faith, the local leaders serving with limited resources but hearts full of the Holy Spirit. The Apostle Paul knew this kind of life well. In 2 Corinthians 4:7–9 he writes:

“But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.” — 2 Corinthians 4:7–9

That is exactly what we witness in these people — jars of clay carrying extraordinary treasure. We are blessed to be here and to walk alongside and encourage and equip the local churches and their leaders.

Our bi-vocational calling lets us connect authentically across all backgrounds. We’re not just “the missionaries” — we’re neighbors, friends, and fellow travelers on this journey of faith, trusting the same God who called us here to carry it all to completion (Philippians 1:6).

If you want to learn more about how God is moving, here at the border , we would love to have a conversation and tell you more- better yet- come see the amazing things God is doing with your own eyes! Let God use Mexico to change you the way He’s changing us.

Happy Valentines Day!

While flowers and chocolates are nice, we hope you know the greatest of loves -God’s love. He loves us so much that He was willing to sacrifice His son Jesus so that we could live forever with him. A love that forgives and redeems and uses even the most difficult situations and heartache for His good. In Romans 8:35-39 the apostle Paul says, “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: ‘For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.’ No in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:35-39

These things may try to separate us from God’s love, but when we know who He is and we have surrendered to him and know our identity as His children those things don’t stand a chance. We are blessed with the opportunity to come along side what God is doing in people’s lives and help people find healing from trauma and freedom through deliverance.

We are also thankful for the opportunity to encourage healing in marriages. God wants our marriages to reflect His character and His transforming love. It makes sense that the enemy wants to tear them apart and we certainly see how he tries to attack those who have committed their lives to serving God. Please join us in prayer for protection over marriages.

We encourage you today how can you grow deeper in God’s love? If you are married, how can you show God’s love in your marriage today. Please DM us if we can pray for you.

Happy Birthday to our incredible Mindy Baker! 🎉

Today we celebrate an amazing woman who left the comfort of home to follow God's call to the Mexico borderlands. Mindy's heart for ministry, her dedication to church planting, and her love for the people of Mexico inspire us every single day.

Whether she's discipling new believers, supporting Jon in ministry, or building relationships in the community, Mindy does it all with grace, faith, and a servant's heart. We're so grateful for her partnership in this mission and the light she brings to everyone she meets.

Mindy, thank you for saying "yes" to God's call and for pouring yourself into this work. May this year bring you abundant blessings, joy, and renewed strength for the journey ahead! 🎂

Greetings friends, family and supporters...January is done. But the mission? Just getting started.

This month, you've gotten a glimpse into what God is doing through Bakers at the Border. Church planting. Marriage restoration. Spiritual healing. Cross-cultural connection.

But honestly? We've barely scratched the surface.

2026 is going to be a year of NEW INTENSITY. More leaders equipped.

More communities reached. More lives transformed by the Gospel.

And we want YOU in this (God's) story.

Maybe you've been praying along this month. Maybe you're considering a mission trip for the first time. Maybe you've felt the nudge to give financially or share this work with your church.

Whatever it is—don't ignore that nudge.

God is moving at the border. The need is great. The harvest is ready. And He's looking for people who will say yes.

So here's our challenge as we move into February: Don't let this be the last you think about missions this year. Stay connected. Stay engaged. Stay obedient to whatever God is calling you to do.

The Baker family is committed to serving faithfully. Will you commit to partnering faithfully?

Let's make 2026 the year we stopped playing it safe and started living on mission.

Looking back at January: what's ONE THING God stirred in your heart about missions? Share it with us—we'd love to hear!

👉 Ready to take the next step? DM us about mission trips, financial partnership, or joining our prayer team. Let's finish this year strong—TOGETHER.

Some wounds you can't see.

Trauma. Grief. Broken relationships. The weight of shame or regret that people carry in silence.

But here's what the Bakers have witnessed again and again at the border: Jesus specializes in healing the things we think are too broken to fix.

Through formational prayer counseling, personal coaching, and empathy-based support, Jon and Mindy create space for people to encounter God's healing in deep, transformative ways.

This isn't quick-fix Christianity. It's the slow, sacred work of letting the Holy Spirit tend to wounds that have been ignored for years. And it's changing lives.

People are finding freedom from things they thought they'd carry forever.

Marriages are being restored. Leaders are being healed so they can pour into others without running on empty.

The borderland is a place of incredible need—but also incredible hope. Because when people experience God's healing firsthand, they become carriers of that same hope to their families, churches, and communities.

This is kingdom work. This is what it looks like when the Church shows up not just with answers, but with presence, compassion, and the power of the Gospel.

Have you ever experienced a season where God brought unexpected healing? If you're comfortable sharing, we'd love to hear about it in the comments. Your story might encourage someone else today.

Here's something most people don't know about the Bakers: They're bi-vocational ministers.

That means they don't just show up for "ministry moments." They work regular jobs. They live in the same communities they serve. They shop at the same stores, navigate the same challenges, and build genuine friendships with people from all walks of life.

Why does this matter?

Because the Gospel isn't just for Sunday mornings. It's for Monday meetings, Tuesday coffee runs, and Friday happy hours. It's for the real, messy, everyday moments where life actually happens.

The Bakers have mastered the art of meeting people where they are—whether that's in professional settings, community spaces, or across a kitchen table. Their authenticity breaks down walls. Their presence builds bridges.

This is what ministry looks like when it's not about programs or performance. It's about presence. Connection. Showing up consistently and loving people well.

At the border, where cultural divides can feel overwhelming, the Bakers prove that faith transcends boundaries when it's lived out with integrity and genuine care.

Where do YOU think the best ministry happens—inside church walls or out in everyday life? We'd love to hear your thoughts!

👉 This is the kind of work that needs faithful partners. Pray for the Bakers as they serve. Give to support their ministry. Or join us on a mission trip this spring/summer! DM us for details.

The strongest marriages aren't the ones that never struggle—they're the ones that choose healing, growth, and connection even when it's difficult.

We lead couples ministry at the border with warmth, wisdom, and a whole lot of grace. We seek to create safe spaces where couples can be real about their struggles and find practical tools to build stronger relationships.

Because here's the truth: healthy marriages change communities. When couples thrive, families thrive. When families thrive, entire neighborhoods are transformed.

We don't just preach about marriage—we've lived through our own journey of healing and growth. We know what it's like to fight for something worth keeping. And now we're helping other couples do the same.

Whether it's a young couple navigating their first year of marriage or a seasoned pair needing renewed hope, Our ministry meets people exactly where they are.
Love wins. Every time. But sometimes it needs a little coaching.

What's one thing you wish someone had told you about marriage before you got married? (Or if you're not married—what's a question you'd love to ask?) Let's learn from each other!

WHAT'S REALLY HAPPENING SOUTH OF THE BORDER?

Over 30 faith communities. Established throughout Mexico. Thriving. Growing. Multiplying.

That's not a marketing number. That's the fruit of years of faithful, strategic work by Mindy, local Mexican pastors, and myself... who caught a vision for communities.

Here's what most people don't understand about church planting: it's not about Americans swooping in to "save" people. It's about empowering LOCAL leaders to reach their OWN people in their OWN context.

Mindy and I coach and equip Mexican pastors with leadership development and strategic planning. We walk alongside them. Invest in them. And then watch as they build something beautiful that lasts.

These aren't buildings. They're movements. They're families finding hope. They're communities being transformed by the Gospel.

And in 2026, we're just getting started.

But this kind of impact doesn't happen by accident. It takes prayer warriors. Financial partners. And people willing to show up and serve.

If you could see ONE thing happen through missions work this year, what would it be? Tell us in the comments!

👉 Want to support church planting in Mexico? DM us to learn how you can give or pray strategically. Interested in joining a mission trip? Let's talk!

New year. Same mission. NEW INTENSITY.

While most people are setting resolutions they'll forget by February, we are doubling down on what matters: transforming lives at the border through faith, healing, and genuine connection.

Here's the thing about ministry in the borderland—it's not glamorous. It's not easy.
But it's where Jesus shows up in the most powerful ways.

Mindy and I have been serving between Mexico and the United States for years, and 2026 is shaping up to be their most impactful year yet. More churches planted. More couples restored. More communities reached with hope.

But we can't do it alone.

This year, we're inviting YOU into this story. Whether you're called to pray, give, or actually GO on a mission trip—there's a place for you in this movement.

The borderland is alive with possibility. Families are being healed. Leaders are being raised up. Faith is spreading like wildfire.

What if 2026 was the year you stopped watching from the sidelines and actually stepped into God's mission?

Let's make this year count. Together.

Question: Have you ever felt called to missions work but weren't sure where to start? Drop a comment—we'd love to hear your story!

🙏 PRAYER REQUEST: Pastor Mario Needs Our Support

The recent storms brought high winds and heavy rain to Buena Vista, Ensenada, causing severe damage to Pastor Mario's church roof.

While much of the repair work has already been completed (praise God for faithful hands!), the church still needs:

Drywall to restore the interior
Corrugated roofing to complete the exterior repairs

Will you join us in prayer?

Pray for:
✝️ Pastor Mario and his congregation as they continue serving their community during this challenging time
✝️ Provision for the remaining building materials needed
✝️ Safety and wisdom for those completing the repairs
✝️ The continued ministry impact of this church in Buena Vista

Pastor Mario's faithfulness in shepherding his flock doesn't stop because of damaged walls—but we can come alongside him in prayer and support as this house of worship is restored.

"Unless the LORD builds the house, the builders labor in vain." - Psalm 127:1

🤲 Please share this post and lift up Pastor Mario and his church family today.

Feliz Navidad! Merry Christmas from Rosarito Beach! 🎄✨

Today, we are celebrating the birth of our Savior in the place God called us to serve. And honestly? There's no place we'd rather be.

Christmas looks a little different here—different traditions, different foods, different celebrations. But the heart of it? Exactly the same. Jesus came for ALL of us. Every nation. Every language. Every person.

As Mindy, Alejandro and I spend today with our Baja family—the pastors we coach, the couples we've walked with, the communities we serve—we're reminded that the Gospel isn't confined by geography. It's as alive in Mexico as it is anywhere else.

The Light came into the world. And He's still shining, still drawing people to Himself, still breaking down every wall that separates us.

From the Baker family to yours—however you're celebrating, wherever you are—Merry Christmas. May you experience the overwhelming love of the One who crossed every border to reach you.

Where are you celebrating Christmas this year, and what are you most grateful for? We'd love to celebrate with you! 👇❤️
