We had a great day at mission today, even though the temperature was through the roof. The giant fan is a lifesaver on days like today. Praise the Lord.
We welcomed Shari, Jane and Jane’s niece CoCo, they brought stationary items for our before school, stationary backpack gifting.
So many of these kids cannot get the full list of items required, as many are from single parent homes and multiple children in each home. The parent has to pay for inscription into school and buy uniforms, shoes etc. so we are excited to have the items, and donations which really bless the children and parents and brings glory to the Lord. Thanks to one and all, who have and are supporting this outreach event.
Beti opened in prayer and then we had our sing, dance and percussion which was greatly enjoyed. The kids are really getting so much better at keeping the rhythm and beat of the songs.
Beti’s teaching was on Jonah and the whale. The moral of the story, disobedience doesn’t end well.
The meal today was a delicious chicken pasta salad with mixed veg on tostados, banana on the side. A huge hit with the children.
The craft today was enjoyed by everyone. A whale that was able to open its mouth and show Jonah with arms raised in prayer. The verse was Jonah 2:7
Zoe gave one of our boys a guitar lesson, while some of the other children took microphones and sung along. Some good voices were heard.
All in all a good day and as Zoe says at least it was hot with no snow to shovel or scrape off the car windows. So true, we are blessed to live here and enjoy days like today, with the children from this community.
Blessings sent your way for the week ahead.
