An update from Project Berea partner, the Berea Bible Instute:
Greetings for Berea!
This semester we have worked very hard for the Glory of God and want the share the good news we have from our ministry with you. Our students and staff have been very busy preaching, teaching and making disciples for Jesus Christ.
We want to have community impact meanwhile our students learn how to be true followers of our Lord.
This semester we have been focusing in missions, academy and social evangelism. In a country like ours, church is more than a place to visit every week, church is essential to regenerate our society. As you may already know, the drug war started by Mexican authorities last decade, has hurt millions of people. This is why we think that more than ever for this generation, love of God is necessary.
This is a brief summary of our activities. You will find the work of a very committed ministry that has faith compassion for people and that is ready to spread the love of God to those who need it the most.
Missions:
Our students and staff were very busy this semester. Our students visited over twenty missions and Churches on Monterrey metropolitan area, and also five missions on rural communities.
Our mission program is based on the command of Jesus when He ask the disciples to go and preach to all creatures. Students not only preach, but also help with all activates related with ministry: since child evangelism or evangelism door to door, to building and cleaning tasks.
This pasts months we encourage our students to be sensible to the situation of Mexican society. We are certain that the love of Christ can be not only a shelter for our people, but also a real opportunity to change and to make Mexican society a better one.
Also, we have been sending teams to rural communities ever month. This teams stay the whole weekend in the missions, once there, they establish children evangelism, worship session, teaching and preaching services and food campaigns.
Hospital:
One of our new mission program is focused in visiting hospitals. We are very concern about the situation in Mexican public hospitals. We focused not in the patients but in the people waiting for their patients. Monterrey hospitals offer service to four states of northern Mexico. Mostly to rural communities. Many people end up waiting in the heat, or in the rain for their patients. They usually don’t have extra money for food or water, and they don´t now anyone in the city. Our students and staff team up together in order to be helpful and offer some food, water, blankets and prayers to people in need by the public hospitals.
This year we have helped over 700 people. Our plan is to do as much as we can in order to help more people during the rest of the year.
We want to thank all of the people that male this program possible. For us is very important that our students learn how to structure a sermon, but also, we want them to lean how to have an impact in our community.
Academy:
This semester we invited some guest professors to teach our students new ideas about missions. During one month our students were concentrated on learning new teachings for mission and evangelize. We want out students to be ready to face the new challenges of Mexican society. Our program contemplates that our students learn from experienced teachers and ministers that are working already for the love God.
Also, we had out Youth Congress in which we invite young people form all over Monterrey area to come and have a good time with our students learning about the Lord. We really like this Youth Congress, it´s our way to express how much we care about them and how much Jesus Loves them.
Also, we started the construction and re opening of the dinning hall. The building was in not a very good shape. We re build the roof and now its ready to receive our students and guest. It was a lot of work, but we do it in the name of the Lord.
You are part of this effort. Be certain that Berea is working every day for the kingdom of God. Your help and support is so precious to us. May the Lord be with you. Thank you very much for all you do for our ministry.
