GOD IS ON YOUR SIDE!

“They were terrified and asked each other, Who is this? Even the wind and the sea obey him!” Mark 4:41 (NIV)

There is something we as believers can learn from every storm we face, but first and foremost, we need to realize that God is always on our side.

Because we have learned that God works all things for our good (Romans 8:28), we can sometimes begin to assume that God creates problems in our lives to teach us things. Because we learn from the storms we face, we believe that God planned for those things to happen. Meanwhile, this couldn't be further from the truth!

God is not a sadistic father. He would never arrange for a child to die, for a spouse to leave, or for a business to go bankrupt just to teach you some life principles. He has given us the Holy Spirit to lead us into all truth!

Experience is not the best teacher. The Holy Spirit is much better! God would rather have the Holy Spirit guide you to know how to create a great marriage; He would not orchestrate a divorce to teach you that!

The truth is that God does not send storms your way: life has a way of doing that on its own. God is on your side, not on the side of the storm.

There may be things you can learn from the storm, but that doesn't mean God is putting that pain and suffering on you. Quite the contrary. As you face the storms of life, know that you have a helper, a comforter, an intercessor, a support in the emergency: the Holy Spirit. (See John 14:26)

God is on your side against the storm, and with Him, you are victorious!

The Power of Redeeming Thoughts

Fix your thoughts on what is true, honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise (Philippians 4:8).

What mental movies are you playing in your head today? Are they thoughts of defeat and despair or thoughts of victory and favor? Faith is simply saying what God says about you and seeing what God sees in you and your situation.

It takes a thought to heal a thought. Unlike the world, which teaches you to empty your mind to achieve peace, God’s way is to fill your mind with fresh, powerful, and redeeming thoughts.

The apostle Paul tells us, “Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise” (Phil. 4:8 NLT). So, it’s not just trying to blot out bad thoughts with your willpower. It takes a thought to replace a thought. It takes a right belief to replace a wrong belief. You need God’s truth to replace the enemy’s lies that have kept you in bo***ge.

My friend, if a wrong, bad, or negative thought is lodged in your mind today and you can’t seem to shake it, stop trying! Perhaps you’re lying in a hospital bed and can’t help but think of the worst-case scenario. You’re attempting to suppress it, but it’s not working. Well, stop! Stop trying to erase it from your mind. That just won’t work. What you need to do is replace that destructive thought with a thought that’s from God. That’s the only way to deal with wrong thoughts and begin the healing process.

Start to meditate on truths such as, “Surely Jesus has borne my sicknesses and carried my pains. The chastisement for my wholeness fell upon Him, and by His stripes I am healed. With long life He will satisfy me” (Isa. 53:4–5 and Ps. 91:16). Begin to play mental movies of yourself getting well, being discharged from the hospital, having fun with your kids, or going on a nice holiday!

SU CORAZÓN: EL CENTRO DE CONTROL DE SU VIDA

"Sobre toda cosa guardada, guarda tu corazón, porque de él mana la vida." Proverbios 4:23

El versículo de hoy nos advierte que cuidemos nuestros corazones. Nuestro corazón es la parte de nosotros que alberga nuestras creencias más profundas, ya que actúa como el centro de control de nuestras vidas.

Para demostrar lo que quiero decir, imaginemos que usted acaba de escuchar un informe en las noticias sobre un número de circunstancias que afectarán negativamente a su negocio. Lo primero que puede venirle a su mente es, “Oh qué desgracia, las ganancias van a bajar”. Si usted acepta esa creencia en su corazón y se enoja por ello, entonces ya no solo se trata de un informe de noticias. Una vez que su corazón lo absorbe, se convierte en una maldición que afecta sus decisiones, lo que usted permite y lo que aporta a su vida.

La buena noticia es que usted no tiene que aceptar esa creencia negativa. Usted puede optar por rechazarla y creer en lo que dice Dios, esto cambiará lo que experimenta. La verdad es que seguir a Cristo le da derecho a cada bendición en la Biblia. ¡Ninguna noticia puede interponerse en lo que Dios ha bendecido! Esta es la creencia a la que usted debe aferrarse, confiando en lo que Jesús hizo posible para usted y buscando a Dios por dirección y sabiduría para superar cada desafío.

¿Cómo puede usted reforzar esta confianza en las promesas de Dios? Impregne su corazón en las enseñanzas del Nuevo Testamento y, mientras medita, deje que las palabras impacten su imaginación. Vea cómo cambia su vida por causa de Jesús. Véase sano, próspero y lleno de alegría.

Medite en las promesas de Dios para desarrollar una expectativa positiva para el futuro... ¡y solo mire cómo cambia su vida!

CUANDO OTROS LO DECEPCIONAN, BUSQUE A DIOS

"A cualquiera que te pida algo, dáselo, y al que te quite lo que es tuyo, no se lo reclames. Hagan ustedes con los demás como quieren que los demás hagan con ustedes." Lucas 6:30–31 (DHH)

Si usted tiene una relación con alguien que no muestra que lo ama de la manera que usted quiere, deje de esforzarse por recibir su amor.

Sé que suena duro, pero escúcheme. Si usted deja de esforzarse por recibir el amor de esa persona y en su lugar solo disfruta de su vida tal como es, usted se liberará. Mientras usted necesite que esa persona lo ame para ser feliz o estar en paz, usted sentirá que controlan su vida. En lugar de eso, usted puede elegir que Dios satisfaga esa necesidad de amor, y desde allí usted tendrá el poder de distanciarse de esa persona (si la relación es tóxica) o amarla sin ataduras, lo que tiene un efecto increíble en una relación.

No podemos buscar a los demás para que nos den el amor que solo Dios puede dar. Ningún ser humano podría elevarse lo suficiente como para cumplir con ese estándar; ellos siempre lo decepcionarán. Necesitamos ser más conscientes del amor de nuestro Padre Dios por nosotros al estudiar Su Palabra, y luego estaremos facultados para amar a los demás.

Cuando usted comienza a poner su pensamiento en línea con la Palabra de Dios, su mundo entero comienza a cambiar. Usted recibe Su amor, se vuelve más seguro en Él, y luego puede hacer que su objetivo sea mostrar ese amor donde quiera que vaya. ¡Usted puede despertar el amor de Dios en usted y mostrarle a los demás cuán especiales, valiosos y amables son realmente.

EL COMPORTAMIENTO NO DETERMINA LA IDENTIDAD

"...y ya no soy yo quien vive, sino que es Cristo quien vive en mí. Y la vida que ahora vivo en el cuerpo, la vivo por mi fe en el Hijo de Dios, que me amó y se entregó a la muerte por mí." Gálatas 2:20 (DHH)

Podemos asumir muchas cosas sobre las elecciones futuras de una persona al analizar sus decisiones pasadas. De hecho, es vital mirar el historial para determinar si usted puede confiar en alguien.

Dicho esto, debemos recordar que el historial solo habla del comportamiento de alguien. No habla de sus motivos e intenciones. Y definitivamente no podemos usar el comportamiento para definir la identidad de alguien.

El problema es que hacemos esto todo el tiempo. Los padres deben tener especial cuidado con esto. Decimos cosas como, “Eres un rebelde, como tu tío” o “Eres el angelito de papá (o de mamá)”. El problema es que estamos usando el comportamiento para hablar sobre la identidad de ese niño. Este chico podría continuar tomando malas decisiones porque ahora se define a sí mismo como rebelde. La niña nunca estará a la altura de la persona angelical perfecta, y cuando ella falle (lo cual es inevitable), se condenará despiadadamente.

Nosotros (y nuestros niños) necesitamos basar nuestra identidad en la Palabra de Dios, no en las cosas que hacemos o dejamos de hacer.

Aunque el comportamiento tiene un gran impacto en nuestras vidas, estamos definidos por quienes somos en Cristo. Tenemos la naturaleza de Dios, somos justificados con Él a través de Cristo, el Espíritu Santo está en nosotros, y somos empoderados y transformados desde adentro. Como dice 1 Juan 3:1-2, “¡Qué amor maravilloso nos ha dado el Padre! Solo mírenlo: ¡se nos llama hijos de Dios! Eso es lo que realmente somos”.
