OVER 200 PATHFINDERS FROM MALAWI ATTEND 4TH SID CAMPOREE IN ZIMBABWE
Seventh-day Adventist in Malawi is well represented at the ongoing fourth Southern Africa-Indian Ocean Division (SID) Camporee at Glen City, a scenic oasis in the outskirts of Harare in Zimbabwe. The glamorous and auspicious occasion has brought together 5, 000 international Pathfinders from across 23 Southern African Countries under SID.
Looking at the event, it is vividly clear that the organizing team spared no effort to make this Camporee memorable. The “Saved to Serve” theme invites 5 000 international Pathfinders to respond to the challenge of going out to serve God and humanity in their respective communities.
The camporee is graced by the SID president, Dr Harrington Akombwa, Dr Jongimpi Papu (the Vice President), SID Directors, Z President, Conference officers, and Pastors.
Gracing the occasion was Hon Tino Machakaire, Zimbabwe Minister of Youth who officially inaugurated the 4th SID Camporee. His message to the Pathfinders lauded the Adventist church for its teachings to the youth and asked the delegates to support the government’s drive, “say no to drugs and substance abuse.” Hon Machakaire said.
Malawi delegation is led by the MUC Youth Director, Pastor Horace Nyirenda and Conference Directors.
From Sunday 13 April to 19 April 2025 , Pathfinders and their leaders are among others engaged in prayers, uplifting spiritual sessions, challenging outdoor adventures, role plays and music.
