ONE OF OUR PASTORS GOT ATTACKED BY ROBBERS AT LILONGWE BRIDGE YESTERDAY EVENING.
"Pastor Leonard Daniel Chitsokwe" of Mchima CRC branch in Nsalu got attacked yesterday evening on his way from the conference in Ntchisi as he was going back home in Nsalu.
The Minibus he boarded at Mponera, delayed to get to Lilongwe. And instead of going straight to the depot as promised, it ended at Kanengo then handed them to another minibus.
The driver of the second minibus, refused to take a way to crossroads where was to drop. He instead took the hospital road up to Mchesi then depot. This was around 8pm. Unfortunately, our Pastor had exact transport from Crossroads to Nsalu. Could not afford taking a bike. So he and his colleague decided to walk to crossroads.
Just after passing Lilongwe river, a team of robbers more that 8 appeared. They grabbed him and ran down with him to the river. The colleague was an old man and was a bit behind when this was happening. Sensing danger, the old man returned and ran away.
Robbers stabbed the Pastor on the chest and in the led with a knife then thereafter took away everything he had (2 bags with clothes and blankets, a mobile phone and money for transport). After a few assaults on him, they let him go.
Though helpless, he encouraged himself then began to walk little by little going to Nsalu footing. He managed to get to someone he knew a round 11pm where he slept then proceeded home today morning. He is in great pain and we have encouraged him to go to the hospital. The below photo is a picture of him.
