TO YOUNG MINISTERS
1 Corinthians 3:6–7 (KJV) "I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase."

To My Fellow Young Ministers You are vibrant. You are passionate. You are zealous for God and that is commendable. But we must understand this truth, not everyone is called or prepared to be a spiritual father. The fact that you led someone to Christ does not automatically make you their spiritual father. We honour your role in bringing them to Christ but spiritual fatherhood requires maturity, experience, patience, wisdom, and depth in the things of God.
Soul-winning is an assignment given to every believer (Mark 16:15). But raising souls, discipling believers, and building destinies requires spiritual capacity and proven stability (Hebrews 5:12–14). If we hold on to people beyond our capacity, we may unintentionally limit their growth, delay their progress, and restrict their spiritual development. Love does not possess love positions people where they can grow (Philippians 2:3–4).
So as you win souls, and I celebrate you for it, my desire is that you direct those souls to leaders who have the grace, wisdom, and spiritual depth to build them properly, rather than trying to raise them with limited knowledge (Proverbs 11:14). Simon Peter found his brother Andrew and brought him to Jesus, recognizing he could not mentor him alone (John 1:40–46) In the same way, Philip brought Nathanael to Jesus, understanding that Jesus had the capacity to shape him.
They knew their assignment was to connect people to Christ, not to claim ownership over their growth. Fishing someone out of the world does not automatically qualify you as their spiritual father. You may have brought them to Christ but their growth requires someone deeply grounded in the Kingdom (1 Corinthians 4:15).
So to my fellow ministers and young, vibrant preachers, If you know you do not yet have the capacity to raise or build someone, have the humility and wisdom to direct them to those who can. That is not weakness that is maturity (James 3:17).
