BALANCED teachers of the Word do not usually lean to EXTREMES by identifying strictly with Calvinism ,Arminianism or by reducing salvation to slogans such as:
“Once saved always saved”
OR
“Once saved is not always saved.”
Instead, they seek to present the full balance of Scripture.The doctrine of salvation must be handled carefully, faithfully and biblically ( not taken to unhealthy extremes that create confusion, fear, carelessness or spiritual shipwreck)
A balanced biblical summary of assurance of salvation is this:
Salvation is by grace through faith, kept by God as "eternal security" and evidenced by our "continuing or abiding" in Christ as our "responsibility".
