ROOTED IN HOPE: CLERGY, RELIGIOUS SISTERS, AND SEMINARIANS RECOMMIT TO FAITH

Nankhwali, Mangochi - On Saturday, 22nd February 2025, the clergy, religious sisters, and major seminarians of Nankhwali Deanery gathered at Nankhwali Parish for a spiritual recollection. The event, which was attended by His Lordship, Rt. Rev. Montfort Stima, Bishop of the Diocese of Mangochi, aimed to inspire the clergy, sisters and major seminarians to deepen their faith and trust in God.

The recollection was preached by Fr. Cleophas Mosheleliwa, who reflected on the theme: "In every suffering there is a meaning as a way of living our pilgrimage of hope that does not disappoint (Romans 5:5)". In his homily, Bishop Stima emphasized the importance of being deeply rooted in faith, citing St. Peter as a pillar of faith. He also prayed for Pope Francis, who, despite his hospitalization, continues to inspire hope in the faithful.

The Holy Mass was celebrated in the monumental Nankhwali church, with some members of the Christian faithful in attendance. The St. Mary's Choir of Nankhwali Parish led the congregation in songs, adding to the spiritual ambiance of the occasion.

"This recollection has been a blessing to us, reminding us that our faith is rooted in hope," said one of the participants. "We are grateful to Bishop Stima and Fr. Cleophas for their inspiring words."

The spiritual recollection was organized by Nankhwali Deanery, which is comprised of Nankhwali, Nankumba, St. Louis (Monkey-Bay), and Koche Parishes.
