Today on December 24, a day before the birth of our Lord, Frank Padilla, father, missionary, and servant, has passed.

Brother Frank lived a long and storied life, part of which was founding Missionary Families of Christ as well as the Live Christ Share Christ Mission.

Despite being a quiet and reserved man, he was called by God to proclaim loudly the Good News, and ever since he said yes there was no turning back. This was because he believed, in his heart, that there could be no greater mission than to live a life for Christ.

On the eve of Christ’s birth, we remember his life verse, which he stubbornly and proudly took to heart:

“To live is Christ and to die is gain.” Philippians 1:21

Thank you Brother Frank for your great love for Jesus, which has in turn set our hearts on fire as well.

Servant Leaders Training II – Mikoke, Malawi 🇲🇼

Held on 4th–5th October 2025, this training brought together 12 dedicated couples from Lunzu, Ntcheu, and Lakeshore Chapters. The focus of the weekend was learning how to form and nurture new groups after the CLS — the MFC way of life. 🙏✨

It was a time of growth, fellowship, and renewed zeal to serve and build strong Christ-centered families and communities. 💒❤️

Empowering Servant Leaders – MFC Malawi Formation Weekend 🙏

From May 23–25, 2025, MFC Malawi conducted a Servant Leaders Formation Program at the Catholic Women’s Organization in Balaka, gathering committed leaders from across the country for a weekend of learning, reflection, and renewal.

Led by Jeswin & Lavisha Castelino , Continent Coordinator for MFC Africa, along with Stephanie D’Souza, Full-Time Pastoral Worker and Consecrated Virgin, the program equipped servant leaders to model Christ in their service. Translation support was provided by Clement and Samuel.

Participants dove deep into topics such as discovering their identity as a servant, modelling Christ, evangelistic leadership, and overcoming the challenges of spiritual fatigue. A workshop on the Two-on-Two Approach taught leaders how to build accountability through honest conversations within their households and areas.

The weekend concluded with a pray-over session, invoking the Holy Spirit to fill, guide, and strengthen all those who lead in God’s vineyard.

Pentecost is considered the founding of the Church. It concludes the "great Sunday" and is intimately linked to the Paschal Mystery. This day is a time to pray for the gifts of the Holy Spirit to become courageous witnesses of Christ and his Gospel. 🕊️

Strengthening Marriages, God’s Way – MER 1, Malawi

From May 16–18, 2025, over 100 participants gathered at the Catholic Women’s Organization in Balaka for Marriage Enrichment Retreat 1, with couples and handmaids from Lilongwe, Domwe, Nsipe, Mikoke, and Mwalawoyera. The retreat was led by Jeswin & Lavisha Castelino, Continent Coordinator for MFC Africa, as part of their 3-week pastoral visit.

The retreat emphasized building marriages rooted in Christ, teaching couples to “establish healthy patterns of communication, develop openness, build trust, and share a common vision.” A highlight was the Heart-to-Heart session, where couples learned to set aside weekly time for intentional conversations. This was taught through role plays and practiced during the retreat.

Couples also learned about financial transparency, budgeting, and accountability, with practical tools like expense tracking sheets. An honoring session within households encouraged spouses to speak words of appreciation, followed by a joyful date night to end the day.

The event was smoothly coordinated by Stephanie D’Souza, Full-Time Pastoral Worker and Consecrated Virgin, with translation support from Clement and Samuel.

BELOVED 2025 – A Joyful Step Forward for Couples in Lilongwe 💑🇲🇼

Held at St. Padre Pio Parish, Area 49, Lilongwe, BELOVED 2025 brought together couples for a grace-filled time of learning, laughter, and love.

Led by Jeswin Castelino & Lavisha Castelino, Continent Coordinator for MFC Africa and Country Coordinator for MFC Malawi, was a life-giving couples’ program focused on rediscovering God's original design for marriage. Drawing from Genesis 2:24–25, the sessions helped couples reflect on their “dream marriage” and how to make it a reality through the four pillars of a godly marriage: Priority, Pursuit, Possession, and Purity.

Through engaging talks, couple reflections, and group discussions, the participants explored how to deepen intimacy, communicate love effectively, and build trust, all while keeping Christ at the center of their relationship.

A special session also touched on parenting—reminding couples that raising faith-filled children begins with strong, Christ-centered marriages.

It was a powerful reminder that marriage is not just a commitment but a calling—and with God’s help, it can truly be Beloved. 💖

The event was deeply appreciated by all who attended — with many couples expressing that this program should be made available in every parish for the benefit of all.
