ADVENTURERS INVITE CHRISTIANS TO WALK WITH JESUS
As the Seventh-day Adventist Church worldwide commemorated this year’s World Adventurer Day, celebrating 37 years of the Adventurer Club in the Adventist Youth (AY) Department, Seventh-day Adventist Church Tambalale SDA Church joined the rest of the world in marking the occasion on 16 May 2026 under the theme, “Walking with Jesus.”
The Adventurer Club, a ministry for children under the age of 10, aims to help young people grow joyfully in wisdom, stature, and favor with God and humanity.
During the special Sabbath service, two young preachers, Wanangwa Magola (7) and Naomi Selemani (7), delivered powerful sermons encouraging Christians to walk with Jesus in every situation of life.
Preaching first, Wanangwa urged fellow Adventurers, parents, church leaders, and congregants to invite Jesus Christ into every aspect of their lives.
Referring to John 8:12, he emphasized that Jesus is the Light of the world and that those who walk with Him will never walk in darkness.
“My fellow Adventurers, parents, leaders, and friends, let us invite Jesus Christ to be with us in all that we do, just as Moses did,” said Wanangwa.
He further explained how Moses walked with God from childhood and was unknowingly being prepared for greater responsibilities while growing up in Pharaoh’s palace.
In support of Wanangwa’s message, Naomi emphasized the importance of fully depending on Jesus Christ and walking closely with Him. Drawing lessons from Exodus 13:21, Exodus 33:11, and John 8:12, she encouraged Christians to trust God, communicate with Him through prayer, and seek His guidance in all circumstances.
“God was with Moses and the Israelites when they left Egypt. During the day, He led them with a cloud, and at night He used a pillar of fire as a sign of His presence. We must also know that God is always available for us, and we should befriend Him,” Naomi said.
Using additional references from the writings of Ellen G. White, Naomi captivated the congregation with her confident delivery and narration skills.
She reminded Christians to remain prayerful, describing prayer as a vital channel of communication with God. She also encouraged believers to trust God with their dreams and needs through faithful prayer.
The afternoon programme featured Bible recitations, encouraging speeches, and presentations highlighting how Christians can continue walking with Jesus despite life’s challenges and remain victorious.
Throughout the Sabbath activities, children expressed their desire to walk faithfully with Jesus so that His grace and guidance would shape them into responsible future leaders. In one special presentation, several children dressed in uniforms representing their dream careers, symbolizing their aspirations and asking God to guide them toward fulfilling their ambitions.
In her remarks, Tambalale Adventurer Director MG Yanjanani Mwasesa thanked God for the successful event and expressed appreciation to the church leadership for allowing children to lead the Sabbath proceedings. She also encouraged parents whose children are not yet part of the Adventurer Club to enroll them in AY classes so they can benefit spiritually and socially alongside their peers.
