St Patrick’s Seminary Foundation is a non-political and non-profit making organization whose mission, goals and objectives are directed at supporting the development of St. The Seminary serves Mzuzu and Karonga Catholic Dioceses. Our mission statement is:
TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF ST. PATRICK’S SEMINARY THROUGH IMPROVEMENT AND DEVELOPMENT OF CURRICULA AND PROGRAMS, PROVISION OF FINANCIAL
AND MATERIAL SUPPORT AND ENHANCING NETWORKING AND CAREER DEVELOPMENT AMONG THE EX-SEMINARIANS. Our motto is; “It is better to Give than to Receive”. The Foundation currently has six constituencies called CHAPTERS headed by Chapter Presidents, namely Karonga, Mzuzu, Lilongwe, Blantyre, Zomba, South Africa and the rest of diaspora. Operations of The Foundation are run by a NATIONAL EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE (NEC) consisting of the following:
• National Coordinator
• Deputy National Coordinator
• Secretary General
• Publicity Secretary
• Treasurer General
• National Fundraising Coordinator
• Chapter Presidents
• Executive Committee Members
The Foundation has a BOARD OF TRUSTEES consisting of not less than five (5) and not more than seven (7) persons who play an advisory role to NEC. Patrick’s Seminary, and the Bishops of Mzuzu and Karonga Dioceses or their designate are ex-officio members of the Board. The Foundation has the following powers among others:
Engage in any lawful activity or undertaking for the purpose of mobilizing or generating financial and other material resources to be applied exclusively to the fulfillment of the aims and objectives of the Foundation as set out in the Constitution. Solicit donations, gifts and other forms of material aid acceptable to the Foundation for the purpose of meeting the financial requirements and other needs of the Foundation in furtherance of its aims and objectives. Exercise any other power, perform any other function or do any other activity that may lawfully be so exercised, performed or done by the Foundation for carrying out, or giving effect to, the purpose for which the Foundation is established
