GOOD WORKS*
Inorder to do good, there must be goodness in you. Yet there's no one good in this world but God alone. Therefore, in order for you to be good, you ought to have God in you. By himself a man can not be good.
In the first epistle of Peter the apostle, we read the following;
“15 For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men: 16 As free, and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God. ”
1 Peter 2:15-16 KJV
If we be good because we know God, even our works are good. And with the good works, we close the mouths of the ignorant's evil communication. The remedy for silencing those who say all manner of evils against us, is in doing them good.
We can never close the mouth of the wicked person with evil communication as well. This just adds the more wickedness in them. But rather, when they speak bad to us, we should return, good and love, which will make them stay calm and stop their evil communication.
It is scripted to us, that children of God, ought to repay good for evil. By this shall all men, know the only true God, through Jesus Christ.
