24th February 2024 was Worlds day of the Sick Commemorations. The day was remembered at Kamuzu Central Hospital in Lilongwe, the Presiding Bishop Dr. J.P. Bvumbwe of Evangelical Lutheran Church in Malawi who is a Chairperson of the Interdenominational Pastoral Care Centre (IPCC) in his remarks urged individuals to always do to others what they would have loved to be done to them.
The Minister of Health Khumbidze Kandodo Chiponda who was also in attendance commended the IPCC for the work it is doing in the country. Other denominations forming IPCC are the CCAP, Roman Catholic and the Anglican just to mention but a few.
Apart from prayers and gospel music performances, various food packages and clothes were distributed to the sick as part of the commemoration.
Worlds Day of the Sick is commemorated each and every year.
