www.ministryofhope.org A Malawian board of directors and a U.S.

The Ministry of Hope was established in April, 1999 by a young Malawian named Fletcher Matandika as a Christian response to the overwhelming number of orphans in Malawi. The day-to-day operations of Ministry of Hope are carried out by a staff based in the capital, Lilongwe, and by feeding center directors who live in villages where MoH operates. board of directors provides oversight and support.

The ministry is under the Mkuza Presbyterian Church of the Nkhoma Synod in Malawi and also has partnerships with several other church denominations. We are primarily committed to making a difference in the lives of these children. However, we also work with widows, the disabled, and the destitute, by ministering to their physical needs and in the process, helping them find the true and everlasting HOPE that is only found in Jesus Christ.

Imagine waking up as the sun rises and walking to a community center to seek medical care from the Ministry of Hope Mobile Medical Clinic. Our clinic reaches 4 centers each month and provides care to 300-500 people each time.
Can you help us provide medical care to remote Malawi villages?

It's graduation time, we are so grateful for the ABC Students that support the work in our Centers! We can't wait to see what the Lord has in store for you!

Every 2 minutes a child under 5 dies of Malaria.....(UNICEF.org)

Luckily for this child he was seen at one of Ministry of Hope's mobile medical clinics. He vas very sick when seen, and had been ill for 2 weeks. He received preliminary anti malarial medication, fever reducing medication, and a referal to a hospital for follow up care. His mom also received education about early signs of malaria and the importance of getting medical help.

Ministry of Hope is giving blessings for strong crop growth at our community centers this season after very late rains.

The maize crop at Chimwang'ombe is slightly above knee height as shown by Gladys, the Center Supervisor and one of the many community volunteers. Smaller than this time last year-- but growing well.

Okra is being harvested at Matapila's garden and other vegetables are growing well.

These crops go directly to feeding children at the centers and decrease the cost associated with purchasing food supplies.

A community assessment indicated that there were people affected with scabies and other skin infections in the villages who were not showing up during the normal clinics for treatment. The community members explained that the major reason why they failed to come to Ministry of Hope centres for treatment was because they live very far and they did not have money to hire a bicycle for all their family members to get to the clinic.
This made it very difficult to completely end of the scabies outbreak because those who were treated at the main centres were being re-infected by those who were not treated.
Special Village Clinics were conducted in outlying areas to reach this population and provide scabies (and other medical) care.
