In Daniel 3, three faithful men were thrown into a fiery furnace because they refused to bow to another god. What should have destroyed them became a place of divine encounter. A fourth person appeared in the fire—one like the Son of God—and because of His presence, the fire had no power over them. They were not burned, not even the smell of smoke was on them. Jesus came into their suffering and rescued them from certain death.
In Matthew 2, we see the same Jesus entering our world in a different way. Not in fire, but in humility. Not in a furnace, but in a manger. Christmas reminds us that Jesus stepped into the furnace of humanity—into sin, enemity with God, suffering, and death—not to judge the world, but to save it. Just as He stood with the three men in the fire, He came to stand with us in our brokenness.
So Christmas is not just a date on the calendar. It is a remembrance that Jesus came into the world to rescue us. The same Savior who entered the furnace in Daniel 3 entered history in Matthew 2. He is still the Rescuer today.
Good Reasons to Come to Jesus
Jesus enters our fire, He does not abandon us
Life has furnaces—trials, temptations, pain, and fear. Jesus does not watch from a distance. He steps into our struggles with us. Where His presence is, destruction loses its power.
Jesus saves us from sin and separation from God
The furnace today is not only suffering, but sin and spiritual death. Christmas reminds us that Jesus came to rescue us from what we could never escape on our own and to restore our relationship with God.
Jesus gives life, hope, and eternal security
The men in the furnace walked out alive and free. In the same way, those who come to Jesus receive new life—freedom from fear, hope for today, and eternal life beyond death.
Closing Call
Jesus was present in the furnace. Jesus was born into the world. And Jesus is present now.
The question is not whether He came—but have you accepted Him to be born in your heart?
This is the true message of Christmas.
stay blessed.
