Join us tomorrow as we learn ways in which Christ can be glorified through our lives. As Christians, our lives should become platforms through which people see the character of Christ and His power at work in us.

The Bible says we are letters written by the Spirit and not with ink. This means people read us; they study us as letters. Imagine preaching about the healing power of God, yet you are constantly being afflicted by sickness. Your life preaches a better sermon than words alone.

Our lives should be a testament to God's power and character.

The average Christian uses the name of Jesus religiously. They have been told to pray in the name of Jesus, yet many do not truly understand why they pray using it. What is the power in this name? What makes it unique? What is the beauty of it? What does it mean? What should we expect when using it? How can we take full advantage of it? And how can we see results when using it?

We have seen many people mention this name repeatedly and desperately, yet without seeing any results. As a result, many begin to think that perhaps it is just like any other name, or worse, that there is no God.

Many people question the existence of God because they see pain, sickness, and suffering in the world. But the presence of problems does not mean the absence of help. Just because many people are out of shape does not mean gyms do not exist, and just because some have uncut hair does not mean barbershops are missing.

In the same way, the brokenness of this world does not prove that God is absent. It actually reveals that many people live far from Him, reject His ways, or ignore His invitation. God is real, but He does not force Himself on anyone. Love that is forced is not love; that is why man was given free will.

God still calls, heals, restores, and saves, but each person must choose whether to align with Him. The question is not whether God exists. The question is, are we willing to respond to Him?

Prayer is not a way of trying to inform God about what we are going through, because our God knows all things, and of course, He already knows what we are going through.

This is where the confusion began: then why should we pray?

Letā€™s go back to the beginning. Genesis 1:26 says, ā€œThen God said, ā€˜Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, over the cattle, over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.ā€™ā€

The Bible says that man was created with the sole purpose of ruling over the earth. That means man was placed in charge of earthly affairs, to rule in dependence on God, not independently.

Even God Himself, when He wanted to come to earth to save mankind, made sure there was a body prepared for Him. So in Jesus, God became man, because on earth it is a spirit living inside a body, called man, that has dominion over it. It is the same reason demons seek to possess bodies, to advance and carry out their agenda.

This is why Jesus said, when you pray, say, ā€œLet Your will be done on earth as it is in heavenā€ (Matthew 6:10). The will of God is already happening in heaven, but it will not happen on earth automatically until the one placed in charge of the earth permits it to happen.

That is why man has to pray to enforce the will of God on earth, because he was placed in charge.

So prayer is a way of issuing permission for heaven to intervene in earthly affairs.
