Missionaries and Reverends who have served the Mission:
Several white Missionaries and Malawian Reverends served at Dzenza CCAP Mission. The first missionary to serve at Dzenza Mission was Reverend Gilder. Jackson who contributed very much to infrastructural development and helped to build girls’ hostels and opened the boarding facility for girls which was well known as “Kumadona”; he also facilitated the building of the Manse and planting of trees along roads of Dzenza Mission premises. Then came Rev. Stregheman who was followed by Rev. Hugo (a first time missionary). Next was Rev. Lenzie who stayed a very long time. He helped to establish Christianity in the community. He was thought to be a hard man. He reinforced observance of the Sabbath by confiscating working materials of the local people who were working on Sunday. People dubbed the day “Lenzie’s Day”. Some people came to church curious to know what made the white man act in the “strange ways” he did. Incidentally, many people were attracted and got converted to Christianity. Lenzie came Rev. J.D. Stytra then Rev. Labschaigne who stayed for a very long time. Labschaigne is the one who established Chongoni Lay Training Centre now known as Namoni Katengeza Lay Training Centre situated near the peak of Chongoni Mountain in Dedza District. The last white Reverend was Rev. Burger. Mphako was the first black Reverend. Ungapake Tembo, the father to a long time Malawian politician John Z.U. Tembo, he left in 1956. K. Mgawi served at Dzenza Mission from 1956 to 1959. Chimutu came in 1959. White missionaries handed over the administration of the Church (CCAP Nkhoma Synod from Dutch Reformed Church) in the hands of the indigenous Reverends. The transition ceremony dubbed "Keys handover" took place at Dzenza Mission in 1962. In 1963, Rev. J.J. Chikankheni came to Dzenza followed by Rev. L.N. Mataka, who stayed for eight years and was followed by Rev. N.A. Katundu then Rev. G.A. Kachaje who stayed for a very long time. He came to Dzenza twice. First, when he was 33 years old, then secondly when he was on secondment from Christian Council of Malawi (CCM) now known as Malawi Council of Churches (MCC). M.Z. Nkhombe also ministered at Dzenza Mission and was followed by Rev. S.P. Chalera who came from Masintha CCAP. Chalera helped the Dzenza CCAP Mission in laying the plans and the foundation stone for the newly built magnificent Church building in 2004. He then retired. Amuna Majoni succeeded Rev. Chalera, he left Dzenza CCAP Mission in 2015 and went to Malowa CCAP in Salima. Silas Kaleso came in 2016 and ministered until December 2021. Current Resident Church Minister:
