"The financial,relational and societal costs of prisons in Malawi are staggering.The Malawi Government spends more than 5billion Malawi Kwacha on inmate related costs per year,and almost 40percent of those inmates released return to prison before the first year out of prison. Prisons in Malawi is home to about 15 thousand inmates".

Our recent visit to Maula prison(last week).
We were joined by visitors from California,United States of America.

Earlier this year,we introduced bibe study groups within prison as part of our discipleship work.There also plans,resources permitting, to help with construction of an additional prison cell to help ease congestion

Joined by our brothers from outside the country,we recently visited and cheered the brothers at Maula prison.

Through the Word of God we encouraged and strengthened them.We praise God for the souls that believed the message of salvation and came to Christ on this day.Evangelist Wells Sakala preached.
We also shared small gifts of soap and soya pieces with them.

Symbolic presentations of gift items to inmates at Kachele female prison in Lilongwe .Apart from the gifts,we also shared the Word of God with the sisters there.They were encouraged and strengthened.

Yesterday we had a blessed time as we visited our brorhers at Maula prison and our visit was meant to accomplish two things;

1.Preach the Gospel of grace of Jesus our Lord to the brothers there.
Evangelist Wells Sakala shared an evangelistic message and taking his reading from John 3:16.
We believe that noone is beyond hope -and that through compassion and preaching Christ to them,their lives can be transformed to glory of God

2.Share the small gifts .We shared soap,sugar, soya pieces and salt with them.
Suffice to say the needs of inmates are enernous.Those brothers need our support and also prayers(Heb.13:3).
The government of Malawi alone cannot afford to meet the needs of these inmates.
Maula prison alone has an inmate population of three thousand plus(3, 000+).Yet this is a facility that was meant/built to accomodate about 800 inmates according to prison authorities there.

We are grateful to the Lord for the wonderful time we had with our brothers.

Last week, we undertook visits to Maula and Kachele prisons within the city of Lilongwe.
Kachele prison Is an all female facility and has innmate population of about 140.
However, the sad thing is that Kachele prison Is also home to 7 children (all under 7)whose mothers have been convicted and are serving various sentences there.These children lack a lot of things (most of them basic) like soap, porridge, clothes, shoes, sugar just to name a few.Hands For Christ also runs a "children with incancerated parents" program which aims at reaching out to children whose parents are serving prison sentences.We provide emotional, physical and spiritual support to these children.

We took the message of salvation to them-we preached to them to repent and believe on the Name of Jesus and be saved today.
We also carried for them assorted clothes and Ufresh laundry soap-Ufresh Is a laundry soap which they can use for both bathing and washing of clothes.

In case,you are not saved yet,please make a decision today as tomorrow might be too late..Make a decision today and NOW!.Repent and believe on the Name of Jesus Christ today, be saved and then begin to live in the newness of life- a life that reflects His character as you await for the blessed hope-His return to take back the saints with Him!

Yesterday, our team visited Maula and Kachere Women's Prisons to cheer our brothers and also sisters at these two facilities.
We also carried some small gifts for them-clothes and laundry soap.

At Maula prison,it was Dr. Joe Lum who shared God's Word with the brethren there.Joe is a pastor from the US and currently visiting the Reformation Bible Church in Lilongwe. At Kachere prison,Evangelist Wells Sakala preached an evangelistic message which saw many of the sisters there believing the Gospel and surrendering their lives to Christ!.

Hands For Christ Malawi(HFC) is a Malawian registered non-denominational evangelical christian charity.

Hands For Christ exists to serve our brothers and sister who are affected by crime and are incancerated in Malawi's prisons.We carry out various programs within prison which are meant to meet the spiritual, physical and emotional needs of inmates.We believe no one is beyond hope-including those in prison who are often ignored, forgotten and neglected by society.
We believe through the Gospel lives can be transformed to the glory of God and lives can be restored.
