‎((The Record Keeper))

‎When the LORD saw that Leah was not loved, he enabled her to conceive, but Rachel remained childless.
‎Genesis 29:31, NIV

‎Leah and her sister, Rachel, were both married to Jacob. Rachel was more beautiful and loved by Jacob, but he had been tricked into marrying Leah and never really loved her. Leah lived in a loveless marriage, feeling not wanted, the second choice, marginalized. I am sure she was tempted to have low self-esteem, to not feel good about who she was. But God sees when you are not being treated right. He sees when you are being overlooked, pushed down, and discounted. Leah could have been bitter and depressed, but she just kept suffering in silence, doing the right thing with a good attitude, not complaining. Centuries later, when it came time for God to choose a family line to bring Jesus through, He didn’t choose one of the sons of Rachel, the favourite wife. He chose Leah’s son Judah. Jesus came through the tribe of Judah.

‎Even when people dishonour you, don’t get discouraged. God is keeping the record and knows how to honour you. He promises that greater honour, greater favour, greater influence is coming. Keep this phrase playing in your spirit: Greater is coming.

‎A PRAYER FOR TODAY
‎“Father, thank You that there is a purpose for whatever hardship comes my way, and You only allow what You know will work for my good. Thank You that You are a God of restoration and that greater is coming—greater honour, joy, and opportunities. I believe that You will turn it to my advantage. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

‎((Keep the Right Identity))

‎Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I hereby put you in charge of the entire land of Egypt.”
‎Genesis 41:41, NLT

‎God had given Joseph a dream that he’d be in leadership and do great things. But that made his brothers so angry they threw him into a pit to die, then they sold him into slavery. He was first enslaved, then falsely accused and put into prison. His environment—imprisoned in Egypt—was the opposite of what God had promised him. He could have become bitter, but he kept being his best. He didn’t let the environment change his identity. He kept seeing himself as the difference maker who God said he would be.

‎Thirteen years after being sold into slavery, Joseph was brought to the palace where his interpretation of Pharaoh’s dream so impressed Pharaoh that he put Joseph in charge of the nation. He became the prince of Egypt. Here is my point. By his attitude, Joseph kept saying, “No, the pit can’t change who I am. I am a prince in the pit. Slavery doesn’t lessen my value. I am a prince as a slave, and a prince in the prison. My circumstances don’t determine my identity. My God determines my identity. I am who God says I am.”

‎A PRAYER FOR TODAY
‎“Father, thank You that no matter what my circumstances say, nothing can change the fact that I am Your child. Thank You that You see me as royalty no matter what my situation looks like, even when I have failed. I declare that I am becoming more and more like who You say I am. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

‎((Doors You’ve Closed))

‎“Behold, I have set before you an open door, which no one is able to shut.”
‎Revelation 3:8, ESV

‎It is easy to lock doors to areas of our lives because of fear, because we think we don’t have the talent or qualifications, because of hurts, or because of mistakes we have made, times we have failed. You may have gone years with a locked door, thinking it could never happen. Your time is coming. You may have shut the door, but God is about to come through it. Don’t be surprised when doors open that you tried to keep closed. He is going to present you with opportunities that seem way over your head. Don’t shrink back. You are well able. The fear may not leave, but you are going to feel a new confidence, a new boldness—that is the Most High God breathing in your direction. He is about to take you where you could never go on your own. Those doors you closed didn’t stop your destiny. God knows what is in you. He knows what you are capable of. He is not going to let fear or the negative things people have spoken over you hold you back. He is about to do something better than you imagined.

‎A PRAYER FOR TODAY
‎“Father, thank You that You are the doorkeeper of my life. Thank You that You have the power to open doors that I have closed and bring new opportunities that will take me to new levels. I believe this is a new day to be bold and break free from the limitations that I have set for myself. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
