PATIENCE AND MARRIAGE: The word patience is easily said but hardly exercised. Many things are spoiled due to lack of patience. Lack of patience has led to irreparable life blunders like
having children out of wedlock. Today, many girls are going for married men because to them time is running out and the fear of reaching menopause before marriage grips so fast. But what can one do if time is elapsing and no one is coming in for a hand in marriage?
The best answer to this question is the same word, "patience."
You know despite all the human efforts we apply to make our destiny better, it's God who is the master planner. In Isaiah 40: 31 He says those who wait upon him shall renew their strength. If human effort has failed and our hope is in despair, let's wait upon the Lord. He is the controller of menopause.
It's not good to live your life in comparison to what is happening to those around you: your sisters, brothers and friends. While it may be difficult seeing your young sisters getting married before you but the hope that you build in Christ should always take you to another day step by step. The God of your sister is still your God.
In 2 Peter 1: 5- 10, patience has been put as one of the 7 principles to be added onto our faith as guiding pillars of our christian warfare. Yes, a Christian must learn to take heart. A Christian must listen to the voice of God that says wait even if it seems unbearable. It was patience that paid off the families of Abraham's and Isaac. Patience paid off in Job and today we speak and refer to them, not because they are superhuman, but because they waited upon their Lord.
Now to a sister or brother who feel time is running out, please exercise patience. Patience at 35? Yes, be patient. Don't grab another man's husband please. Don't resort into having a child outside wedlock in fear of menopause. Remember the darkest hour is nearest the dawn. God is soon to come to you.
PRAYER
Lord, may you heal this struggling soul. May you answer your child's prayer. You are our hope and refugee. Like you did with Hannah, may it be with her also in Jesus name,
AMEN
