HOW TO BUILD A PRAYER LIFE THAT DOESN’T BREAK - APOSTLE MICHAEL OROKPO

A sustainable prayer life is not built on emotion; it is built on spiritual training. Many believers pray when they feel stirred, but feelings are unstable. If your prayer life depends on motivation, it will collapse under pressure. Prayer that does not break is prayer that is rooted in discipline, understanding, and consistency.

The first foundation of a strong prayer life is revelation. You cannot be consistent in what you do not understand. When prayer is seen as a duty, it becomes a burden. But when prayer is seen as communion and warfare, it becomes a necessity. Jesus said, “Men ought always to pray” (Luke 18:1). Prayer is not optional; it is oxygen for the spirit.

The second foundation is structure. Spiritual men do not pray randomly; they pray deliberately. Set a time, set a place, and guard it fiercely. Daniel prayed three times a day — not because he felt like it, but because it was a system (Daniel 6:10). Consistency is not accidental; it is scheduled.

The third foundation is gradual capacity building. Many believers fail because they attempt to pray beyond their current stamina. Start where you are and grow steadily. Increase your prayer time as strength increases. Just as muscles grow through repeated exercise, spiritual endurance is built through persistence.
The fourth foundation is word-based prayer. A prayer life without the Word will dry up. Scripture fuels prayer and gives direction. When you pray God’s Word, you are not guessing — you are aligning. Jeremiah 23:29 says, “Is not my word like fire?” The Word keeps prayer burning.

Finally, understand that consistency defeats resistance. The enemy resists prayer not because it is weak, but because it is powerful. When you keep showing up, even when it feels dry, something shifts in the spirit. Prayer first changes the pray-er before it changes circumstances.
A prayer life that does not break is not loud, dramatic, or emotional

The Kingdom Life Daily Devotional Guide (2026 Edition)

February 2, 2026
Theme: Spiritual Growth & Maturity
Topic: Growing Beyond Spiritual Milk (Hebrews 5:12–14 KJV)

Scripture
“For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.” (Hebrews 5:12 KJV)

Reflection
Spiritual maturity requires progression. God never intended believers to remain at the level of constant reassurance and basic understanding. Spiritual milk is necessary at the beginning, but remaining there too long limits growth, responsibility, and discernment.

Growing beyond spiritual milk means developing the capacity to handle correction, deeper truths, and spiritual responsibility. It involves exercising spiritual senses through consistent use of the Word and obedience to God’s instructions. Maturity is revealed not by how long one has been in the faith, but by how well one responds to truth, discipline, and growth demands.

God desires believers who can discern, apply truth, and stand firm without constant external validation. Growth begins when comfort is replaced with commitment and depth becomes intentional.

Prayer Focus
Father, help me grow beyond spiritual infancy. Strengthen my understanding, sharpen my discernment, and lead me into deeper spiritual maturity.

Declaration
I grow beyond spiritual milk. I develop discernment, depth, and maturity through consistent obedience to God’s Word.

Altar Action
Examine areas where you still rely on spiritual comfort instead of growth. Commit today to pursue deeper understanding through study and obedience.

HEAR THIS, SOME OF YOU ARE IN INIQUITY BECAUSE YOUR PRIESTHOOD IS DEAD. THE FIRST SIGN THAT A MAN IS FALLING IS THAT PRAYER BECOMES A STRUGGLE.

When the fire on the altar begins to die, the flesh gains strength and the gates of the soul open to corruption. What you call weakness is often the symptom of a silent priesthood. When prayer becomes heavy, iniquity becomes easy.

Jesus said in Luke 18:1 that men ought always to pray and not to faint. The moment prayer ceases, fainting begins. A believer does not fall because he is weak; he falls because his priesthood has been starved. Prayer is the oxygen of the spirit. When you stop breathing, spiritual death begins quietly.

Psalm 141:2 reveals that prayer is incense before God. If your incense is not rising, another fragrance will fill your atmosphere. The devil studies the silence of a prayerless man. He knows when your altar has lost fire and he attacks when you no longer have fuel to resist.

When prayer becomes a struggle, discernment dies. You begin to call darkness light and light darkness. The things that once grieved you now feel normal because your spiritual senses have grown dull. You do not fall suddenly; you fall by the slow decay of a dying altar.

Many believers cry about bo***ge but ignore the root. Before any man enters iniquity, he first abandoned the secret place. Sin thrives where prayer is absent. The flesh gains authority where the spirit has stopped rising. Your victory is tied to your priesthood.

God does not strengthen men in public; He strengthens them in the place of incense. Revival begins in your closet before it ever shows in your conduct. If you restore the altar, you will restore your strength, purity, and discernment.

The enemy is not afraid of a churchgoer. He is afraid of a man whose altar is alive. He is afraid of a believer whose incense rises day and night. Such a man cannot be easily manipulated because his spirit is aflame.

Return to prayer. Rekindle your priesthood. Let the

‭Deuteronomy 30:19-20 KJV‬

*THE LITTLE SON'S OF THE GIANT(THE PRESUMPTUOUS SIN)*

*2 Samuel 21:16 And Ishbi-benob, which was of the sons of the giant, the weight of whose spear weighed three hundred shekels of brass in weight, he being girded with a new sword, thought to have slain David.*

David a brave and courageous warrior of GOD, in his conquests of war for the Israelites the people of GOD he killed so many giant's that the Bible could made mention of and was victorious over them but David never knew that *one little son's of the giant called ishi-benob is planning and doing all in his might and power to bring down and kill the almighty David* You have been a fervent Christian for years, you have been hot and on fire for God. You have been fighting a good fight of faith against sins and iniquity the major giant(sin) that can cause a downfall of a Christian and you are have been winning all glory to JESUS but are you taking note of the little son's of the giant aiming at you? *Yes Satan knows you are strong and you have taken your stand against sexual sin,Smoking, fornications, partying drunkenness, fighting and the rest alike* but are you aware of their little son's that can cause a derailment for you and led to you downfall as a Christian??

The Bible in the book of *Psalm 19:12 Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults. 13 Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression* Have you take note of the little son's of the giant sins which are *lies, malice, anger, lust bitterness, strive, jelouse, pride, egosim, and the rest alikes* This is are the little son's of the GIANT (SIN) aiming at you to pull you down if care is not taken. The only way you can overcome this little son's that are also very deadly sins that are aiming for your downfall as a Christian is to abide by the principle of the Bible for a Christian which says "WALK YE ALWAYS IN THE SPIRIT"(BE

*THE PREACHING OF THE CROSS*

1Co 1:18 *For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.*

*GOD HAS CHOSEN TO SAVE PEOPLE BY HAVING THE MESSAGE OF THE CROSS PREACHED TO THEM. THOSE WHO REPENT AND BELIEVE ARE SAVED.*

1Co 1:21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

1Co 1:23 But *we preach Christ crucified* , unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
1Co 1:24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

OUR CENTRAL MESSAGE MUST BE THAT JESUS WAS CRUCIFIED FOR OUR SINS .

1Co 2:1 And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.
1Co 2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.

WE MUST KEEP THE MESSAGE SIMPLE.

1Co 1:17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.

THE WORD OF FAITH WHICH WE PREACH

Rom 10:8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
Rom 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Rom 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Rom 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

PEOPLE CAN NOT BELIEVE THE GOSPEL UNLESS THEY FIRST HEAR IT.

Rom 10:14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

JESUS WAS MOCKED FOR THE SIX HOURS HE SUFFERED ON THE CROSS FOR OUR SINS.

Mar_15:25 And it was the third hour, and they crucified him.
Mat 27:35 And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots.
Mat 27:36 And sitting down they watched him there;
Mat 27:37 And set up over his head his accusation written, THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS.
Mat 27:38 Then were there two thieves crucified with him, one on the right hand, and another on the left.
Mat 27:39 And they that passed by reviled him, wagging their heads,
Mat 27:40 And saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself. If thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross.
Mat 27:41 Likewise also the chief priests mocking him, with the scribes and elders, said,
Mat 27:42 He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him.
Mat 27:43 He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God.
Mat 27:44 The thieves also, which were crucified with him, cast the same in his teeth.
Mat 27:45 Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour.

EVEN OUT OF THAT CROWD *SOME REPENTED WHEN THEY CONSIDERED THE CRUCIFICTION* ONE OF THE THIEVES REPENTED.

Luk 23:42 And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.
Luk 23:43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.
Luk 23:47 Now when the centurion saw what was done, he glorified God, saying, Certainly this was a righteous man.
Luk 23:48 And all the people that came together to that sight, beholding the things which were done, smote their breasts, and returned.
PAUL PREACHED JESUS DIED AND ROSE AGAIN.

Act 17:2 And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures,
Act 17:3 Opening and alleging, *that Christ must needs have suffered, and risen again from the dead;* and that this Jesus, whom I preach unto you, is Christ.

SOME BELIEVED .

Act 17:4 And some of them believed, and consorted with Paul and Silas; and of the devout Greeks a great multitude, and of the chief women not a few.

SOME WERE ANGRY.

Act 17:5 But the Jews which believed not, moved with envy, took unto them certain lewd fellows of the baser sort, and gathered a company, and set all the city on an uproar, and assaulted the house of Jason, and sought to bring them out to the people.

THEIR PREACHING TURNED THE WORLD UPSIDE DOWN.

Act 17:6 And when they found them not, they drew Jason and certain brethren unto the rulers of the city, crying, These that have turned the world upside down are come hither also;

THE GOSPEL IS STILL THE POWER OF GOD UNTO SALVATION.

Rom 1:16 For I am not ashamed of *the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth;* to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

PAUL SUMS UP THE GOSPEL THEN WARNS THEM NOT TO CHANGE THE GOSPEL.

Gal 1:3 Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord *Jesus Christ* ,
Gal 1:4 *Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us* from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:
Gal 1:5 To whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
Gal 1:6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:
Gal 1:7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
Gal 1:8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

TO PREACH ANY OTHER GOSPEL WILL BRING A CURSE ON YOU.

Gal 1:9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

IF YOU CHANGE THE GOSPLE TO PLEASE MEN ,YOU ARE NOT A SERVANT OF CHRIST.

Gal 1:10 For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.

THE MONEY GOSPEL CANNOT SAVE ANYONE.
YOU can be rich and go to hell.

1Pe 1:18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;
1Pe 1:19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

THE DIVINE HEALTH TEACHING WILL NOT SAVE ANYONE. YOU CAN BE HEALTHY AND GO TO HELL.
The preachers of this also teach that telling lies is faith. But the bible says all liars go to hell.

PUSHING PEOPLE OVER BACKWARDS AND TELLING THEM TO SAY THEY ARE HEALED WILL NOT SAVE PEOPLE.
If you teach people to lie that they are healed you are sending them to hell.

EVEN REAL MIRICALS DO NOT REPLACE THE PREACHING OF THE GOSPEL.

Joh 18:6 As soon then as he had said unto them, I am he, they went backward, and fell to the ground.

Luk 22:50 And one of them smote the servant of the high priest, and cut off his right ear.
Luk 22:51 And Jesus answered and said, Suffer ye thus far. And he touched his ear, and healed him.
PREACHING BAPTISM OR DENOMINATION JOINING WILL NOT SAVE SOULS .
It will only make wet church members.

PEOPLE MUST FIRST REPENT AND BELIEVE JESUS PURCHASED THEIR SALVATION ON THE CROSS .

1Co 1:12 Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ.
1Co 1:13 Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?
1Co 1:17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.

SOME HAVE TRIED TO BRING BACK JEWISH TRADITIONS INTO THE CHURCH.

Gal_5:11 And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? then is the offence of the cross ceased.
Gal_6:12 As many as desire to make a fair shew in the flesh, they constrain you to be circumcised; only lest they should suffer persecution for *the cross of Christ.*

IN SOME CHURCHES ENTERTAINMENT AND WORLDYNESS HAS BEEN SUBSITUTED FOR THE MESSAGE OF THE CROSS AND HOLY LIVING.
WHAT WOULD PUAL FEEL ABOUT THE DICO LIGHTS ,SMOKE MACHINES ,IMMODEST DRESSING AND SHALLOW PREACHING.

Php 3:18 (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that *they are the enemies of the cross of Christ* :
Php 3:19 *Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)*
Php 3:20 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:

ITS TIME TO BE SINGING ABOUT THE BLOOD OF JESUS.

Rev_5:9 And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for *thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;*

OUR LIVES AND OUR CHURCHES MUST *BE FOCUSED ON JESUS .NOT ON OUR SELVES.*

Heb_12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Rev_12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

Start Living On Purpose

‘‘Those who help others are helped.’’
Proverbs 11:25 MSG

One of the best ways to keep your life in balance and stay on track spiritually is to pass on what you know to others.
The Bible says, ‘Those who help others are helped.’ As you pass along your insights, you will get more insights from God.
Paul challenges Timothy, ‘Now I want you to tell these same things to followers who can be trusted to tell others’ (2 Timothy 2:2 CEV).
If you know people who haven’t discovered their God-given purpose in life yet, it’s your job to share with them what has been shared with you.
For example, don’t just read this devotional and keep it to yourself, share it with your friends.
The more you know, the more God expects you to use that knowledge to help others.
That’s how things are supposed to work in His kingdom.
James writes, ‘Anyone who knows the right thing to do, but does not do it, is sinning’ (James 4:17 NCV). In other words, increased knowledge brings increased responsibility.
Passing along the purpose of life to others is more than just an obligation; it’s one of our greatest privileges.
Imagine how different the world would be if everyone knew their calling.
That’s why Paul writes, ‘If you teach these things to other followers, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus’ (1 Timothy 4:6 CEV).
Not only does God want us to live out His purposes, He wants us to help others do the same.
That is what assignment-centred living is all about. Regardless of your age, the rest of your life can be the best of your life if you will do this one thing – start living on purpose!
