*CONTENTMENT*

Sometimes we do get troubled over what we don't have, may be what we do have is not good enough,
if we could only find a better suit, a better shoe or better this or better that....
And we don't have the money.

And then comes the issue of comparison with our co worker, or one of our peers. And it is apparent that we are lagging behind..

Well the bible has some verses that teaches us that we need to stay put..

"Godliness with contentment is great gain." - 1 Timothy 6:6 (NIV)

Additionally, the Bible says:

- "Be content with what you have, because God has said, 'Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.'" - Hebrews 13:5 (NIV)

- "For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that." - 1 Timothy 6:7-8 (NIV)

Ofcourse we know that God has promised us *abundance* ,(John 10:10) so there is nothing wrong with wanting more, as long as we know that the more we get , the more will also be required of us to give,to share.

The blessing of the Lord makes rich and he adds no sorrow to it.(Proverbs 10:22)

And in the Bible there are many that God made rich such as Abraham,Isaac,Jacob,Joseph,King David, King Solomon

Deuteronomy 18:8,
Says you shall "Remember the Lord your God for it is He who gives you power to obtain wealth that he may establish His convent which He swore to your fathers as it is this day ."

God made a covenant with the fore fathers of the Israelites that He will bless their descendants.
And even each and everyone of us who have been born again (received Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour) we also get to inherit the blessing of Abraham as it is written in (Galatians)
~ He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit." - Galatians 3:14 (NIV)
- "If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise." - Galatians 3:29 (NIV)

WHEN GOD DOESN’T ANSWER

For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us, even by me and Silvanus and Timotheus, was not yea and nay, but in him was yea.2Corinthians1:19
For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in Him Amen, unto the glory of God by us. 2Corinthians 1:20
The bible says that God’s promises are always yes and amen. That He does not say one thing in one minute and then changes it the next, saying that he did not really mean it! No His promises are always yes and amen at all the time. God is not a Hypocrite, Him and His word are one... Remember what the word says in the beginning was the word and the word was with God, and the word was God.

EXAMPLES IN THE BIBLE OF PEOPLE THAT PRAYED AND GOT ANSWERS
(1) Elijah prayed Heavens shut and later opened, there was drought and it later rained (scripture Ref: James 5:17, 1 Kings 17:1)
(2) Hezekiah (scripture Ref: Isaiah 37:15-31 prayed for security from enemies and answer was given, prayed again for healing Isaiah 38:1-5)
(3) Jacob prayed for a blessing (Gen 32:26)
(4) Daniel prayed for dream interpretation(Daniel 10:12)
(5) Peter and John prayed for a man’s healing(Acts 3:
(6) Moses prayed that God be with them(Exodus 33:13-15)
(7) Jabez prayed for a blessing and enlargement of territory(1Chronicles 4:10)
(8) Hannah prayed for a child (1Samuel2:1), Samson prayed (Judges 16:28) that God would give him strength one more time.
In some cases we are told that when some of the men and women mentioned here prayed they sometimes had to pray intensely and hard before they were granted their answer by God. But in most scenarios, we are not told how hard they had to pray. But God answered those prayers and that is the most important thing!
TIMES WHEN GOD DOES NOT ANSWER OR SHOW ANY SIGN THAT HE IS AROUND OR PRESENT TO INTERVENE IN OUR SITUATION
To begin with no one can really stand up for God and begin to bring up explanations on His behalf as to why he did not show up when the people, his people needed Him the most.
Let me state here that there are times that God may seem not be present. Times when He would seem not to be so very much around or close by.
That can only be tried to be explained a little based on what the word has told us. For example like as stated in the book of Isaiah (Isaiah 59:1-2) that His hand is not short that it can help but our sins may be acting as a barricade that prevents Him to intervene.
Bible tells us that Jesus did not do May miracles in other regions because the people believed him not (Mathew 13:58)
OTHER TIMES THE REASONS MAY NOT SEEM TO BE THERE AS TO WHY HE IS NOT ANSWERING OUR PRAYER
This is where we end our sharing of the word today.
Listen God is who He say He is And he said,(Isaiah 33:19) “I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show mercy on whom I will show mercy.”
LISTEN TO THIS
While God is really who His word say He is, but He can do a thing which only Himself can understand at that point and nobody can question Him. Because He is a sovereign God. He is above all things. We cannot say under any circumstance that He has been unfair in any situation that at some point in our lives may seem un understandable.

He is still God, still He is love, still He is good and we will understand everything better when we get to the other side.
For example we may be praying for healing for our loved one and the person doesn’t get healed but dies.
We pray for a child but it’s not coming, the wife is not conceiving. We are praying for something for years and its not coming to pass.
Even at that moment, we should know that it is not that God has changed and become another type of God who can decide that He can answer prayer today then tomorrow changes and decides otherwise, no! He is the same yesterday, today and forever.
WHAT TO DO WHEN THERE SEEM TO BE NO ANSWERS
• Keep on praying
• Keep on believing
• Keep on trusting
• Keep on doing whatever you were doing that was in agreement with the word of God.
• Remember the miracles of old. In times when God answered prayer
• Seek God more, strive for His presence. Just crying for His presence day in day out
In the end, I assure you that this so-called spiritual drought will surely come to an end. And you will notice the Joy of the Lord once again.

GOD IS AVAILABLE ON CALL 24/7

PSALM 4:1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
The bible tells us from the above verse that God is always available in times of all sorts of problems. The writer of this psalm is telling us as if it is his own testimony. Testifying to whoever may hear his report.
When you read his writing he continues to say; “therefore we will not fear. He says in the same verse (verse 2), that though the earth be removed, and though the mountains are carried into the midst of the sea;
That message can only come from the person who not only knows God but also who has had an encounter with God. Someone who has been in trouble and then called on God and saw the hand of God rescuing him.

GOD’S GUARANTEE FOR HELPING HIS PEOPLE

God has, again and again, expressed His will and interest in helping his people all throughout the bible. Right from the book of Genesis, starting with Adam and Eve. He loved them dearly being their creator. Even after they sinned, He still was a present help in that trouble of sin. For He provided a way to temporarily deal with sin until the real remedy for it was brought about and that being His own Son, Jesus. Who died for all mankind that whosoever would only believe in Him would receive everlasting life.
1) In Jeremiah 29:11(Refer- He shows us that His care for us is so huge that He has a plan for even our future and beyond.
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
2) Psalms 91:15 When he calls out to Me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble. I will deliver him and honor him.
3) 2 Chronicles 16:9 for the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show himself strong on the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him?
All these verses show you that God is committed to helping you and me. And everyone else on the face of the earth.

THE THINGS THAT PERSUADE GOD TO ANSWER THE CALL

The call is really nothing but prayer. (And everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved Romans 10:13) since God has already promised to answer when his people call but there has to be a seriousness on the part of the caller.

Here are the basic things according to His word:

• Psalms 51:17 Sacrifice to God is a broken spirit: a broken and humbled heart God will not despise. ... The way to please you is to be truly sorry deep in our heart
• James 4:10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up
• Hebrews 11:6 And without faith, it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
• Luke 18:7-8 And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bears long with them? I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?
May God hear you and answer you when you call but make sure you dont change or have a double mindset when you have set your mind to pray and seek God, please be encouraged God will answer you.

Psalm 20 1
May the LORD answer you when you are in distress; may the name of the God of Jacob protect you. May he send you help from the sanctuary and grant you support from Zion. May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed

SAVE YOURSELF FROM THIS PERVERSE GENERATION

ACTS 2:38 Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
For the promise is to you and to your children and to all who are far off, as, many as the Lord our God will call.”
And with many other words he testified, and exhorted them, saying, “Save yourselves from this crooked generation.” (American Standard Version)

Peter began to speak to the people concerning the very thing that they were witnessing about. The gift of the Holy Spirit. He told them this act of speaking in another tongue is a gift of the Holy Spirit who has come as Jesus had promised. Jesus promised that the Holy Spirit would come and empower the believers so that they would be able to follow God. But he said that first they must be saved through believing and accepting Jesus as Lord and being baptized in the name of the father, son and Holy Spirit.

ALL HAVE SINNED

Romans 3v 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Now if all have sinned how then we can say save yourself from this wicked generation. It is impossible to save yourself for all have sinned and have fallen short of the glory. Through one man Adam, sin and death entered the world. And through one man also righteousness and life entered the world. But the difference now is that for one to receive that sin and death we did not have a choice. Everyone who came into the world came through the same two people Adam and Eve. And these people had already been contaminated by disobedience. They disobeyed God and ate the forbidden fruit, going against God’s instruction. Everybody that came through these two were all tainted with sin.

JESUS DIED AND ROSE AGAIN TO GIVE THE WORLD A LIFE LINE

JOHN 3:16

“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Now that is an offer for life but for one to receive it he has to decide and make that move to go with Jesus the Son of God. By that I mean accept him as Lord and live according to His word. Make that commitment to never go back to your old life. Allow the Holy Spirit to work in your spirit, your soul and your mind to bring about a total transformation.

SAVE YOURSELF

John 3:36

He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
2 Corinthians 6:2
“(For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I helped thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.

So now that Jesus has done his part, it now all up to every living being on the planet to make the decision whether to believe and accept Jesus as Lord or not. But God is calling upon each and every one to make the right decision.

So save yourself from this generation. This generation is crooked, it wicked and very bad and mean. Everyone thinks about himself. Even in families the man thinks about only himself and nobody else. Not the wife not nor kids.
The life span in this world has now reduced to a very low rate due to the cruelty of mankind. People are now killing each other as though they are killing a chicken or a bird. These are like the days of Noah, the days of S***m and Gomorrah.

JUDGEMENT IS COMING
MATHEW 24:37, 38

37 For just like the days of Noah[a] were, so the coming of the Son of Man will be. 38 For in those days before the flood, people[b] were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day Noah entered the ark. 39 And they knew nothing until the flood came and took them all away.[c] It will be the same at the coming of the Son of Man.
And like it was with S***m and Gomorrah that fire came down and burnt the city, the people and everything in it, so shall it be with this generation.
So save yourself from this wicked generation by deciding now to run to Jesus for if you miss that chance in this life time, there shall never be another chance when you die. See Hebrews 9: 27 And just as people [ae] are appointed to die once, and then to face judgment.

So before that time make your booking now. That when the judge comes you shall be at peace with him and even then you would have already passed from judgement to life as the scripture says in JOHN 5:24

THE DEVIL IS THE LIAR

John 8:44
Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

THE FATHER OF LIES

The devil is the originator of a lie, he lied to himself first by thinking to himself that he could dethrone God and take up the Lord’s throne, which he should have known better. That it would never be possible because there is no one that can overpower God.
But he went ahead and spread his power hungry lies to the other angels. And those that bought the lie fell for it. He tricked them into it just like he continues to do with the world today!

A WORLD OF LIES

Now the world we live in is corrupted and in this world today it is
very difficult to find a people that live lives of integrity. If any it is those that fear God, those that have their lives transformed by Christ!
Otherwise the world today is full of lies, bribery, murders and all sorts of evil activities. And to make it worse the world has adopted this as the standard of life. Such that when you live a life of integrity people tend to wonder and say you are over religious. They think you are wasting your time.
The world’s thinking is that you have to do anything possible to benefit from whatever you want to benefit from, otherwise you lose. Everybody thinks I have to get mine before someone gets his. So people are ready to trick. Cheat or kill for self gain, especially when money is involved. It seems the name of the game with the world is…. GET, GET, GET AND GET MORE!

BUT JESUS CAME WITH THE TRUTH

For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. The lord Jesus came to deliver the truth. He sat Necodemus down and taught him the basic truths of man and how he can get back to his relationship with God.
Jesus exposed the devil, gave a few lessons about him. John 10:10 (Thief comes but to steal kill and destroy, but I have come that they may have life and have it abundantly) Jesus exposed him to say that he is a spirit when he said the fire of hell was prepared for THE DEVIL and his angels.(MATHEW 25:41)

In the opening verse we shared above, our Lord exposed the devil as a liar and the master and originator of it.
So the devil is exposed through the word. He wants us to believe a lie that in this world we are alone. The enemy wants us to believe that it is like everyone us for ourselves. But that is not true we are not alone, God is with us Isaiah the prophet prophesied and said the virgin shall be found conceive and bear a child, his name shall be Emmanuel (God with us ~Isaiah 7:14)

TRUTH DECLARED

The word of God is the truth, from the beginning of the bible; it tells us how the world came into existence. That God had to create it and everything that is in it now.

SUMMARY OF THE TRUTH

The bible tells us that God is a heavenly father, to those that fear him. Psalm 103:13: "As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him." ... 2 Samuel 7:14-15: "I will be a father to him, and he'll be a son to me.

GOD LONGS TO TAKE CARE OF PEOPLE BUT OUR ATTITUDE AND CONDUCT MATTERS

To the pure you show yourself pure, but to the crooked you show yourself shrewd. Psalms 18:26(New Living Translation)
2 Chronicles 16:9 For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect...
1 Peter 5: 7 cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for us”. Just throw it on him, and let him carry your burdens. Jesus said we could cast all of our cares on him because he cares for us! There is nothing we are going through that we cannot cast on the Lord.
So that is it the truth is we are not alone.

HOW FAR ARE YOU COMPELLED TO GO WITH GOD

Daniel 11:32
“And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong and do exploits.”
How far are you compelled to go with the Lord? The above scripture tells us that days are coming when there shall be the rise of this ruler .a king who shall do wickedly and shall cause many to fall. Fall by the sword as well as cause them to fall in their faith and give up due to the hardship that he shall bring upon the people of the earth at that time.
But the people who know their God shall be strong and do exploits. They shall do wonders, shall do big things.
Listen these times being talked about here are very hard times that the enemy will bring upon the world. Our Lord talked about it, he said that time will not come until the abomination of desolation spoken of by Daniel the prophet, let him who is in Judea flee..See Mathew 24 vs: 15
It is during these hard times that it will require a deep knowledge of God in order to resist the devil as other translations put it, in the same scripture…Daniel 11:32 But the people who know their God shall be strong and resist him (NEW LIVING TRANSLATION)
END TIMES; will bring along with it difficult times because the time is getting shorter by the day, by the hour and by the minute. Soon the ANTICHRIST will sit on the seat of world leadership and all hell is going to break loose!
Even before he completely assumes his seat there will be pre tribulations. Troubles that will come up that will get a hold of everybody on the planet earth. Things that will disturb us and it is going to call for His presence through the indwelling of the holy ghost. If the holy spirit lives and fills a believer hard times won’t really seem like hard times because He will comfort, guide and protect us.
You see in these last days that we are in; there is a need for us to strive for to walk in the fullness of the Holy Spirit. In the last days (Joel 2:28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:
These are those days. It all takes the yearning and the deep praying and seeking for Him that we have to do in order for us to be among those that receive his outpouring of the spirit.
Unless we know Him when the evil day comes we want be able to stand.

NOW IS THE TIME TO SEEK GOD MORE THAN EVER

God promises to be found if we seek him with all our hearts
Jeremiah 29:13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.
We are going to have to be serious in seeking the Lord for the world is going to be a more hurtful world than ever in these last days. Just imagine what Paul tells Timothy in his letters to him.
2 Timothy3:1-4
But know this that in the last days perilous times will come For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
Traitors, heady, high-minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
Now imagine these kind of people with such life styles like false accusers, despisers of those that are good, lovers of money more than God. These people will easily be manipulated by the antichrist new world order system which even now has already started taking charge.
They will kill for money, just because you love God they will accuse falsely. This kind of life style, these forces of the devil can only be resisted by a man that is spending time with the Lord and thereby really knows who He is!
Now how far are you willing to go with God? You cannot go half with God and half with the world. It’s got to be all the way,100% that means giving Him all the attention and obedience.
THE DANGER OF NOT GOING 100% WITH GOD
Revelation 3:16
So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew thee out of my mouth.
The above verse talks about those people that are one foot for God and another for the world, the Lord says we cannot have it both ways. And if we choose to go all the way with God, then He will be with us all the way through.
Now is the time for the real Christian to rise up.
Isaiah 60:1-2
Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon for, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.

WHAT’S GOING ON?? (A BATTLE IS GOING ON!)

In this life that we live there are things that happen, people are different in their behavioral patterns. Some are gentle, nice and sweet. Always accommodating others while others are ruthless, selfish and hateful.

And sometimes we go on living our lives just normal and then all over a sudden something bad befalls us, a member of a family falls sick. Or an accident happens.

The thing is nothing just happens, there are some powers out there that are causing stuff to happen.

Listen God started everything He created life, the world, man all animals…. everything He made. He made man in His own image, for Himself. And everything He made was good says the bible. Gen 1:31 “God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the sixth day”
And that’s how life started, everything was good.

DECEPTION INTO SIN

And it was in the garden when the enemy tricked Eve, Adam’s wife into eating the fruit which was forbidden them from eating by God Himself. And it was when that Eve had eaten that she sinned against God immediately and Adam ate of it also joining into the sin again. It is then that man had sold his freedom, peace, health and everything called good to the devil. Chaos began to take over right at that time.

WHATS GOIN ON NOW

(1.) 1 Peter 5:8 “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour”
(2.) Ephesians 12:1 “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms”
(3.) “10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly”

Now The bible teaches us that since the fall what has been going on is a war. Adam sold out his authority in the garden. Traded it for the fruit, the fruit was sweet, it gave him the knowledge of good and evil but they forgot what God said, He said the day you shall eat of it you shall die.
GENESIS 1:2 “but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.”

JESUS GAVE CHANCE TO MANKIND TO GET BACK AT AUTHORITY

When Jesus came to earth in human form, born of a virgin Mary. He lived and taught the truth about God, His kingdom and the devil our enemy.

DEATH ON THE CROSS

When He died on the cross, and rose up on the third day. He said that whosoever believed in him would receive life, eternal life.
And with it (John 1 :13) “Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God”

BATTLE ENGINEERED

Its right at that time that to him who gets born again as written in John 1 :13 that one becomes the child of God. Gets power, authority and protection from being hurt by the enemy. God giving all the care to His sons and daughters.

(BUT YOU MUST STAND/FIGHT)
EPHESIANS 6:13

Therefore, take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be

able to withstand in the evil day and, having done all, to stand

So there you have it. There is a fight going on and it’s the devil that we are fighting against. He is the one that is out to get us. 1 Peter 5:8 say your enemy the devil is angry and is looking for who to devour. That word devour is exactly what Jesus said in JOHN 10:10 “to steal, kill and destroy”

FIGHT THE FIGHT OF FAITH

So fight on. If you don’t fight, you will be fought. Attack even if you haven’t been attacked. Throw your arrows now, every time push him away from your tent. And by that it may mean, your job, family, relations, church, your pastor and everything that concerns you
