Date: 05 June 2026.

`Title: Humility opens door to healing.`

`Bible Focus Text.`
> “2 Then Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall, and prayed unto the LORD, 3 And said, Remember now, O LORD, I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore. ”
`Isaiah 38:2-3 KJV`

`Introduction`
> Isaiah 38:2–3 captures King Hezekiah at the edge of death, raw and honest before God: “I am going to die; I am doomed.”

> In context, these words come after Isaiah’s grim pronouncement that illness will end the king’s life, and they set the scene for the drama of prayer, petition, and God’s surprising mercy and Hezekiah turns from resignation to pleading, laying his fragile human need before the Sovereign who heals and restores.

The emotional climax is the collision of helplessness and divine compassion: a ruler stripped of pride, confessing his doom, then clinging to God’s promise and receiving renewal of years as a sign that God hears the contrite heart. The application is immediate and personal: when life’s greatest fears close in (death, loss, despair) your first and truest response must be to bring honest, vulnerable prayer to the Lord, trusting that His power meets your weakness and His mercy can rewrite your story; humility opens the door to healing, repentance softens the soul, and dependence turns a sentence of doom into a testimony of grace.

> Read this wonderful call: the same God who answered Hezekiah answers you; Hezekiah’s restoration foreshadows the ultimate healing Christ accomplished on the cross (rescuing us from the wages of sin and giving us eternal life) so do not wait until regret or desperation forces your plea. If your heart is moved, bow now: admit your brokenness, believe that Jesus died and rose to cleanse and restore, call Him Lord and Saviour, and begin to follow Him in faith; let this moment be your turning point from doom to hope.

𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: The Israelites wondered when they would get to the Promised Land. The Israelites camped under the tall cloud on the desert plain. Many days ago, Moses went into the thick, dark cloud that covered the top of the mountain. No one saw him since.
The crowd who left Egypt with the Israelites was unhappy. They were upset that they had to wait so long in the desert. They were ready to move to the land filled with milk and honey. A few days before, God’s people promised to obey Him. But now they wanted a God or leader they could see. So, they went to Aaron’s tent and asked him to make a statue they could worship. Aaron was afraid the people would hurt him if he didn’t help them. So, he agreed to do what they wanted. In Exodus 32–34, we read what happens next in this sad story.
This story teaches us about confessing our sins and God’s forgiveness. Think about the memory verse as you read each day’s study. Yes, we sin. But God made a plan to save us. Thanks to Jesus’ death on the cross, God offers to forgive us. But we must confess our sins first. We also must ask for the Holy Spirit’s help to stop sinning.

— Life can become so busy that we neglect the most important thing our relationship with God. The danger comes when these things consume our time and leave little room for God. We may love God and appreciate the Sabbath, yet still allow life's pressures to crowd out meaningful time with Him.

— God gave us the Sabbath as a special gift to strengthen our friendship with Him and remind us to put Him first. A healthy relationship with God requires intentional time in prayer, Bible study, worship, and fellowship with Him. When we realize that we have drifted away from God, we should come to Him with humility and repentance.

— The closer we come to God, the more we recognize our need of His grace. Through Christ, we are forgiven, accepted, and restored to a right relationship with God. Christ's righteousness is our only hope of salvation, which is why we must continually depend on Him.

— Sin creates distance between us and God and weakens our relationship with Him. When we do wrong, it is often easier to justify ourselves than to admit our fault. The Holy Spirit lovingly convicts us of sin and shows us our need of repentance. Conviction is a gift from God because it helps us recognize what is separating us from Him.

— In Hosea 6, God calls His people to return to Him because He longs to heal, restore, and bless them. God is merciful and eager to forgive those who sincerely repent. True repentance is more than regret over consequences; it is sorrow for having grieved God.

— The Holy Spirit leads us to the foot of the cross where we see God's love and our need of His grace. Jesus invites us to remain connected to Him as branches connected to the Vine. Spiritual growth is only possible when we maintain a living relationship with Christ. When we confess and surrender our sins, God forgives us, restores us, and draws us closer to Himself.

— Repentance was a central message preached by both John the Baptist and Jesus. God calls us to repent because His kingdom is near and He desires to save us. True repentance begins when we recognize our sins and our need of God's mercy. God's kindness, patience, and goodness are meant to lead us to repentance.

— Repentance involves sincere sorrow for sin and a decision to turn away from it. Genuine repentance is always connected with confession, forgiveness, and restoration. God is eager to forgive everyone who comes to Him with a repentant heart. The Lord patiently gives us time to make things right with Him before Christ returns.

— Repentance is not merely feeling bad about sin; it is choosing to surrender our lives to God. As we remain connected to Christ, He removes sinful habits and develops His character within us. True repentance produces visible changes in our attitudes, choices, and actions. Spiritual growth happens as we continually surrender, repent, and allow God to shape us. Repentance leads to forgiveness, spiritual renewal, fruitfulness, and eternal life.

— God is merciful, gracious, patient, and overflowing with love toward sinners. Even when His people fail, God continues to seek their restoration rather than their destruction. After Israel sinned, God revealed His character as a God of mercy, forgiveness, and covenant love. God's grace is the reason Jesus came to die so that our broken relationship with Him could be restored.

— The Holy Spirit leads us to recognize our sins and brings us to the foot of the Cross. Like the tax collector, we should come to God humbly, asking for mercy and forgiveness. Jesus does not push sinners away; He invites them to come to Him with their burdens.

— No matter how great our sins may be, God's grace is greater still. Jesus died for us while we were still sinners, proving the depth of God's love. When we accept Christ's grace, our guilt is replaced with forgiveness, hope, and peace.

— Our true identity should not be found in possessions, status, or appearance, but in Jesus Christ. In the parable of the wedding feast, the wedding garment represents Christ's righteousness. The man without the wedding garment accepted the invitation but rejected what was freely provided.

— This teaches that it is not enough to know about Jesus; we must personally accept His gift of righteousness. Christ offers every believer His perfect character to cover our sin and shame.

— Adam and Eve lost their innocence when they sinned and tried to cover themselves with fig leaves. Their fig-leaf coverings represent human efforts to solve the problem of sin. God replaced their coverings with garments provided through
sacrifice, pointing forward to Jesus.

— In the same way, we cannot save ourselves through good works, religious activities, or personal effort. Only the righteousness of Christ can make us acceptable before God. Daily wearing Christ's robe means trusting in His grace, surrendering our lives to Him, and allowing His character to be seen in our actions.

“He who would become a child of God must receive the truth that repentance and forgiveness are to be obtained through nothing less than the atonement of Christ. Assured of this the sinner must put forth an effort in harmony with the work done for him, and with unwearied entreaty he must supplicate the throne of grace, that the renovating power of God may come into his soul. Christ pardons none but the penitent, but whom He pardons He first makes penitent. The provision made is complete, and the eternal righteousness of Christ is placed to the account of every believing soul. The costly, spotless robe, woven in the loom of heaven, has been provided for the repenting, believing sinner.”

MY DAILY BREAD

- 20 May 2026 -
Water
Elements of Good Health

Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: but whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. John 4:13, 14

In health and in sickness pure water is one of Heaven’s choicest blessings. Its proper use promotes health. It is the beverage which God provided to quench the thirst of animals and man. Drunk freely, it helps to supply the necessities of the system and assists nature to resist disease. The external application of water is one of the easiest and most satisfactory ways of regulating the circulation of the blood.

Pure water to drink and fresh air to breathe invigorate the vital organs, purify the blood, and help nature in her task of overcoming the bad conditions of the system.

Water is the best liquid possible to cleanse the tissues.

If those who are afflicted would assist nature in her efforts by the use of pure, soft water, much suffering would be prevented.

Water treatments, wisely and skillfully given, may be the means of saving many lives. Let diligent study be united with careful treatments. Let prayers of faith be offered by the bedside of the sick. Let the sick be encouraged to claim the promises of God for themselves.

The refreshing water, welling up in a parched and barren land, causing the desert place to blossom and flowing out to give life to the perishing, is an emblem of the divine grace which Christ alone can bestow, and which is as the living water, purifying, refreshing, and invigorating the soul.

*****

In the East water was called the “gift of God.”

Keep drinking water and stay blessed.
