"Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment." (John 7:24)

God's Word makes it clear that we can judge rightly. However, we are not to condemn or be judgmental (cf. Matthew 7:1-5). Rather, we should be discerning. We are to make sure that we know the truth and understand the whole story so that we may judge righteously.

A fool judges based on assumptions, whereas a sage judges in righteousness. A shallow person judges based on appearance, whereas a perceptive person judges based on character.

Ultimately, our judgments should be based on truth. We are to judge rightly based on God's righteousness, not self-righteous legalism; on an accurate understanding of God's revealed truth, not censorious heresy-hunting; and on our intimate relationship with God as a fully devoted follower and imitator of Jesus Christ.

Are you an inspiration to others?

Unsuccessful people see the success of others as a competition. They feel like they have to defeat others to succeed in life and work. You know, people don't want to help people who compete with them. The reality is that there is no success in defeating others.

When you compete with someone, you become bitter and resentful. When you are bitter and resentful, you can't enjoy the success of others as much as yours. You will end up comparing yourself with others and feeling intimidated or defeated.

Change your mindset and change your life. What’s meant for you will always be yours. You don't have to worry about what's meant for others. Maturity is when you can enjoy the success of others as much as your own success.

Insecure people feel the need to prove themselves, while secure people have a quiet confidence.

What I've observed is this, people who want to impress, aren't impressive. There's something fake about them. There's something lack of authenticity, genuineness and sense of reality. When you set out to be impressive, you won’t get very far. Instead, invest in yourself, be passionate about what you do, and genuinely love and serve others. That’s impressive. (Adapted from John C.
