LIGHT OF CHRIST, a name chosen by the pioneer leaders of this church, is an independent fellowship of Bible believers. In theology, we subscribed to the "Apostles' Creed". ✝️Apart from Me, You Can Do Nothing✝️
📖John 15:1–17

Today we were reminded that our spiritual life and fruitfulness depend completely on remaining in Christ. Jesus is the true Vine, and God the Father is the Gardener who lovingly prunes our lives so that we can grow and bear more fruit. He calls us to abide in Him to make our home in Him, remain in His Word, and rest in His love. When we remain connected to Christ, His life produces fruit through us. The clearest evidence of this fruit is love: loving one another as Christ has loved us, even when it requires sacrifice.

This week, let us examine whether we are truly abiding in Christ or trying to live and serve in our own strength. Spend time in His Word, surrender to His pruning, and intentionally show Christ’s love to someone around you. Apart from Christ we can do nothing, but when we abide in Him, our lives can bear fruit that lasts. 🌿❤️

✝️Breaking Free from the Religious Checklist✝️
📢Speaker: Pastor Henry Ngura
📖Colossians 2:11-23

Paul reminds us from Colossians 2:11–23 that true freedom is found in what Jesus has done, not in what we do. Through Christ, we receive a new heart, our old sinful life is buried, and we are raised to a new life through Him. Jesus completely canceled our debt of sin on the cross and defeated the powers of darkness, so we no longer need to live under condemnation. Therefore, we should not return to religious rules, human traditions, or spiritual checklists, because these are only shadows—the reality is Christ. Our response is to rest in Christ’s finished work, trust His grace, and live in grateful obedience rather than trying to earn God’s acceptance.

This week, when guilt, condemnation, or the pressure to be “good enough” comes, remember Colossians 2:14: Jesus has already canceled your debt. Stop striving to earn God’s love and instead live each day from the freedom and grace you have already received in Christ.

📖Colossians 2:1–10
Speaker: Gloria Sawmi

📍Paul expresses his deep concern and struggle for the believers, desiring that they be strengthened, united in love, and firmly grounded in Christ. He reminds them that Christ is the mystery of God, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge, so they should continue to walk in Him, rooted and established in faith. Paul warns them not to be deceived by persuasive human ideas or teachings that draw them away from the truth of Christ. Finally, he emphasizes that believers are complete in Christ, because the fullness of God dwells in Him.
✅Let us make Christ the center of our lives and seek wisdom and knowledge from Him rather than being influenced by worldly philosophies or deceptive teachings. We should remain rooted in Christ through His Word, prayer, fellowship, and obedience, trusting that everything we truly need for our spiritual life is found in Him.

📍To live for Christ is to magnify Christ because He is the source and center of our lives. We magnify hope by trusting God even in difficult circumstances, and we magnify love by serving others sacrificially and reflecting Christ’s love. We magnify fullness by finding our true satisfaction in Christ and eternity by living with an eternal perspective. Our service and sacrifice should point others to the greatness of Christ rather than ourselves.
✅ This week, let us willingly serve Christ by using our time, gifts, and resources to bless others, even when serving requires personal sacrifice or inconvenience.
