If you and I are to withstand the forthcoming perils and pressures, it is imperative that we each have a firm spiritual foundation built upon the rock of our Redeemer, Jesus Christ.

So, I ask each of you, “How firm is your foundation? And what reinforcement to your testimony and understanding of the gospel is needed?”

The temple lies at the center of strengthening our faith and spiritual fortitude because the Savior and His doctrine are the very heart of the temple. Everything taught in the temple, through instruction and through the Spirit, increases our understanding of Jesus Christ.

When renovations on the Salt Lake Temple are completed, there will be no safer place during an earthquake in the Salt Lake Valley than inside that temple.

Likewise, whenever any kind of upheaval occurs in your life, the safest place to be spiritually is living inside your temple covenants!

Please believe me when I say that when your spiritual foundation is built solidly upon Jesus Christ, you have no need to fear. As you are true to your covenants made in the temple, you will be strengthened by His power. Then, when spiritual earthquakes occur, you will be able to stand strong because your spiritual foundation is solid and immovable.

Soutenons-nous les uns les autres!

Quelle idée! Est-il trop difficile pour nous de nous élever les uns les autres et de retenir quelqu'un quand il a rencontré des défis dans la vie?
.
Il y a plusieurs années, Joseph B. Wirthlin a ressenti l'amour de son compagnon apôtre, Russell M. Nelson. Lors d'une conférence sur la charité, sa santé et son âge l'ont défié sur le podium. Peu de temps après qu'il a commencé à trembler de manière incontrôlable, son ami, maintenant le président Nelson, s'est tenu derrière lui et l'a soutenu!

C'est un moment que je n'oublierai jamais. Je suis sûr que beaucoup d'entre vous s'en souviendront toujours. C'était un acte d'amour pur. Frère Wirthlin aurait très probablement basculé, mais il a imposé son message apostolique au monde. Tout cela parce qu'il était soutenu par le président Nelson.

Frère Holland a enseigné: «Ce n'est pas rien de« soutenir »une autre personne. Le mot signifie littéralement «maintenir» ou, si vous préférez, «tenir le coup». Quand nous soutenons la vie, nous la nourrissons, nous la continuons.

Lorsque nous soutenons un ami ou un voisin ou un inconnu dans la rue, nous apportons notre soutien, nous partageons nos forces, nous apportons de l'aide. Nous nous soutenons sous le poids des circonstances présentes. Nous portons les fardeaux les uns des autres sous les lourdes pressions personnelles de la vie. »

Nous en avons de nombreux exemples dont nous pouvons nous souvenir. À l'époque actuelle, il y a eu et il y a encore de nombreuses occasions de soutenir nos familles, nos amis, nos voisins et nos collègues.

Matthieu 5:44, "Mais je vous dis: Aimez vos ennemis, bénissez ceux qui vous maudissent, faites du bien à ceux qui vous haïssent et priez pour ceux qui vous utilisent malgré vous et vous persécutent.
.
Recherchez des occasions de soutenir, de soutenir ou de tenir le coup. Écoutez-le et il vous conduira vers ceux qu'il a besoin de vous pour aider.
