CCL Leads Community Prayer for Peace in Qeme Ha Thaabe
On Thursday, 13 November, the Christian Council of Lesotho (CCL), through the UNDP and UN Women–supported project “Supporting Community-Driven Violence Reduction and Sustainable Peace in Lesotho,” held a powerful prayer service at Qeme Ha Thaabe, Maseru.
Community members, chiefs, clergy, councillors, police representatives, and the CCL leadership gathered to pray against rising violence and the brutal killings affecting the district.
Key prayers focused on the District Administrator, government ministries, and families especially widows and widowers who have lost loved ones to violence.
The community expressed deep appreciation and requested that more prayer services be held in their villages.
Speaking at the event, CCL Chairperson Bishop Monaheng Sekese reaffirmed CCL’s commitment to protecting human dignity and promoting peaceful, safe communities where all people especially children can live without fear.
