MESSAGE TITLE
The Fulfilment of the Outpouring of the Holy Spirit

SCRIPTURE REFERENCE
Acts 1:1–5; Acts 2:1–41; Acts 8:26–40

The pastor began the sermon by reminding the congregation that it is impossible to claim the promises of God if we do not know the Word of God. It is therefore important to read and listen to God's Word so that we can understand and confidently claim His promises. He also emphasized the importance of attending church and prioritizing fellowship with other believers.

He then recapped the previous sermon, which focused on the question: Why the Holy Spirit? Why was He given to us?

In the Old Testament, the Holy Spirit was given to selected individuals according to the roles assigned to them. He came upon kings, judges, priests, and prophets for specific purposes. God also gave a promise concerning the Holy Spirit through the prophet Joel, declaring what would take place in the New Testament (Joel 2:28).

The Holy Spirit comes upon a person with a purpose. He does not come without reason. We are given the Holy Spirit so that we may testify about Jesus Christ to those who do not know Him.

The pastor then spoke about the Day of Pentecost, which was celebrated after every 50 days. For the believers gathered on that day, one of the most significant factors was that they were in one accord. Their unity and oneness created an atmosphere for God's power to be manifested.

The importance of unity can also be seen in the account of the Tower of Babel, where people worked together with one purpose. Their unity was so powerful that God intervened by confusing their language. Similarly, in Acts chapter 2, believers were united in purpose and spirit, which led to the outpouring of the Holy Spirit and the manifestation of God's power among them.

The Holy Spirit empowered Peter, one of the apostles, to boldly proclaim Jesus Christ to the crowd that had gathered in amazement. This was the same Peter who had denied Jesus, doubted God's power while walking on water, and fallen asleep during prayer. However, after being filled with the Holy Spirit, he was transformed and became a bold witness for Christ.

Peter's message was simple yet powerful. He preached Jesus Christ who died, was raised from the dead, and ascended into heaven.

The pastor highlighted God's purposes for giving us the Holy Spirit:

1. To preach the Gospel
2. To bring revival
3. To heal
4. To empower
5. To guide and advise

In conclusion, there is nothing we can effectively do without the Holy Spirit. It is important for the Church to remain united, be filled with the Spirit of God, and allow Him to work through us. We are empowered to be effective witnesses of Jesus Christ when we are filled with the Holy Spirit.

Message Title
Why the Holy Spirit?

Initially, from the Old Testament, the Holy Spirit was given to specific individuals such as kings, judges, prophets, and priests so that God could work through them in their unique assignments.

Then later from Joel 2:28, we see God's promise to pour out His Spirit on all flesh. Not sprinkle, but POUR.

And when He does, something should happen:
- Sons and daughters shall prophesy.
- The elderly shall dream dreams.
- The young shall see visions.

This reminds us that the move of God is not limited to the pulpit. God desires to speak through His people.

Then we turned to Acts 1:8, where the purpose of the Holy Spirit in the New Testament is revealed:
"𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫... 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞 𝐌𝐲 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬."

The Holy Spirit empowers us to represent Christ in our homes, our communities, our schools, our workplaces, and wherever God has placed us.

One truth stood out clearly:

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐲 𝐒𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐥𝐨𝐮𝐝𝐥𝐲 𝐰𝐞 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐤, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐰𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐉𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐬.

May we be a church that not only receives the Holy Spirit, but one that boldly lives as His witnesses every day.

Message Title
The Separation Between God and Mankind

Scripture Reference
Genesis 2:7-9, 15-17 | Genesis 3:1-13, 20, 23-24 | Revelation 12:7-9 | Ephesians 6:10

The pastor began the sermon by referring the church to the creation of mankind in Genesis 2:7-9. Mankind was created by God and placed in the Garden of Eden to tend and guard it. Adam was permitted to eat freely from every tree in the garden except from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Unfortunately, mankind did not keep God's command and ate from the forbidden tree, resulting in being cast out of the garden. Disobedience became the cause of mankind’s separation from God.

When the serpent entered into conversation with the woman, it did not simply hand her the fruit. Instead, it questioned God's command and later disputed it. The serpent did not force the woman to eat the fruit; she was in her right state of mind when she made the decision to eat, despite God's instruction.

As the woman conversed with the serpent, she quoted God, but unfortunately added to what God had originally said, thereby misquoting Him. This teaches us the importance of quoting and understanding God's Word correctly.

Three Things We Need to Consider When Reading the Word of God:

1. Observation – Carefully examine every
detail, as this helps with proper
interpretation.

2.Interpretation

3.Application

Despite being given the command not to eat the fruit, Adam accepted it and ate as well. When God came looking for them, they hid from Him, for they were naked. Asked on who told them that they were naked, Adam blamed the woman, and the woman blamed the serpent.

The same serpent that deceived the woman is the devil (Revelation 12:7-9). His intentions about the Mankind are never good, he is the reason the mankind got separated from God. The bible discribes him as the deciever, an enemy and a killer.

Even today, many people are still being deceived by the devil into disobeying God. May God help us to become obedient and to remember that it is only by putting on the full armour of God and through Jesus Christ that we can overcome the evil one.

MESSAGE TITLE
The Beginning of Sin

SCRIPTURE REFERENCES:
Genesis 1:31 | Job 34:10–12 | James 1:13–15 | Genesis 2:16–17 | Ezekiel 28:11–19 | Isaiah 14:12–14 | Genesis 3:1–6

The sermon opened with an important question: Where did sin come from, and how did it begin?

The answer highlighted that sin entered through hostility, rebellion, and disobedience. Even today, people continue to rebel against God. This raises another question: Was sin part of God’s creation? The answer is no.

[Genesis 1:31] reminds us that everything God created was good. Evil was never part of His creation.

SO WHERE DOES EVIL COME FROM?
[Job 34:10–12] and [James 1:13–15] teach us that when God created humanity, He gave us free will - the ability to choose obedience or disobedience. The devil does not force anyone to sin; each person makes that choice.

HOW DID SIN ENTER THE WORLD?
[Genesis 2:16–17] shows that sin came through disobedience influenced by the devil. Hell was created for the devil and those who follow him; humanity was never part of that original plan. However, because humans were created with free will, our choices determine our eternal destination.

Symbolic passages in [Ezekiel 28:11–19] and [Isaiah 14:12–14] describe the fall of the devil. Once a high-ranking cherub, he was cast down because of pride.

Unwilling to fall alone, the devil sought to lead humanity astray, knowing the authority God had given to mankind.

[Genesis 3:1–6] shows his strategy: he questions, deceives, and distorts the truth. This is why believers must know and correctly apply Scripture in order to stand firm against his schemes. Some conversations and influences must be avoided because they can be spiritually harmful.

We are all born with free will, and our choices determine our destiny.

May God help us to remain in His will.
