“Let Each One Remain in the Calling in Which He Was Called”

Today’s Readings:
1 Kings 30 | Jeremiah 48 | 1 Corinthians 7

“Let each one remain in the same calling in which he was called.”
(1 Corinthians 7:20)

Where has God placed you in life to serve Him? There is no single “best” way to serve God. He calls people from different cultures, circumstances, backgrounds, ages, and abilities. We are not meant to be identical, because God can use our differences for His purposes.

Paul’s teaching in 1 Corinthians 7 is very practical. If you are married, remain married. If you are unmarried, remain unmarried. If you are circumcised, remain circumcised; if you are uncircumcised, remain uncircumcised. In other words, do not assume that changing your circumstances will automatically make you more useful to God. God can work through you exactly where you are.

This does not mean that we should never change jobs, relationships, or circumstances when change is necessary. Rather, we should not think that we must change everything before we can effectively serve God.

Perhaps God has placed you where you are for a reason, because you may be able to reach people there whom someone else cannot.

So instead of becoming discouraged because we think we are in the “wrong” place, let us ask ourselves:

“How can I serve God faithfully in the place where He has placed me?”

Today, let us:

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.”
(Proverbs 3:5–6)

Main Message

We do not need to be in perfect circumstances before we can serve God. Let us trust Him, accept where He has placed us, and look for opportunities to serve Him faithfully right where we are. God can use our lives, our circumstances, and our gifts to accomplish His purpose. 🙏🏽

Our Identity Shows Who We Belong To

Today’s Readings:
1 Kings 29 | Jeremiah 47 | 1 Corinthians 6

Our identity shows who we are and who we belong to. If we enter a community wearing a shirt with a company logo, people know that we are part of that team. They know they can ask us about our work because the logo tells them what we represent.

In the same way, we can wear T-shirts, use bumper stickers, or carry Bible covers with “Jesus” written on them. But these things mean very little if our lives do not actually show that Christ lives in us.

Before we were baptised into the saving Name of Jesus, we were part of the “sin and death group.” Paul reminds us:

“The wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God… and that is what some of you were.”
(1 Corinthians 6:9–11)

But now that we have been baptised, that is no longer who we are. Now we belong to Jesus.

Paul says:

“You were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.”
(Verse 11)

“You were washed”

This means that the blood of Jesus has cleansed us from our sins.

“You were sanctified”

This means that God has set us apart to live a holy life, separated from our former sinful way of living.

“You were justified”

This means that God considers us righteous and no longer guilty because of Jesus Christ.

Yes, we may have had a sinful past, but that is not who we are anymore.

Through Jesus Christ and the Spirit of God, we are meant to be new people in Christ. We have a new identity as forgiven children of God.

Main Message

Today, whatever you do, do not return to your old way of life.

Live as the new person you are in Christ. Let your life, your words, and your actions show that you belong to Jesus Christ.

Our identity should not be seen only in what we wear or what we display, but in the way we live our lives every day. 🙏🏽

The Power of a Wife’s Influence

Today’s Readings:
1 Kings 18 | Jeremiah 44 | 1 Corinthians 3

I am deeply grateful that my wife has had a powerful influence in my life, and by God’s grace, that influence has been for good.

Throughout Scripture, we see how powerful a wife’s influence can be. In the beginning, Eve took the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and gave it to Adam. Later, Jezebel’s influence encouraged Ahab to pursue evil while he was king of Israel. In Jeremiah 44, we see another sobering example: wives played a significant role in turning their families away from Yahweh (God).

Jeremiah reminded the Jews living in Egypt of:

“The wickedness you committed, you and your wives.”
(Jeremiah 44:9)

When Jeremiah rebuked them, the women did not remain silent. Together with their husbands, they defiantly said:

“We will not listen to you.”
(Verse 16)

But influence can work both ways.

A wife’s love, wisdom, and faith can gently draw her husband closer to God. Her encouragement can strengthen him when he is weary; her example can remind him of what truly matters; and her prayers can quietly shape the atmosphere of the home.

What a beautiful responsibility—and what a precious opportunity!

Proverbs says:

“The wise woman builds her house, but with her own hands the foolish one tears hers down.”
(Proverbs 14:1)

Main Message

Today I pray that every Christian wife will use her influence to build, not to tear down—to strengthen her husband, bless her family, and help turn the hearts of those around her toward Yahweh and His beloved Son, Jesus Christ.

A woman’s influence can build a family, strengthen faith, and lead others closer to God. May we use that influence with wisdom, love, and faithfulness. 🙏🏽

“Go Into All the World and Preach the Gospel”

Today’s Readings:
1 Kings 16 | Jeremiah 42 | Mark 16

Jesus said:

“Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.”
(Mark 16:15–16)

Let us simplify this verse by looking at what these words mean.

“Go”

“Go” means exactly what it says. We cannot simply stay at home and preach the Gospel. We need to leave where we are, go to people, become involved in the communities where we live, and go into all the world to preach the Gospel.

“All the world”

This means every person, everywhere. There should be no discrimination. The Gospel is a message for everyone.

“Preach”

To preach means to publicly proclaim or teach people God's message openly and courageously.

“The Gospel”

The Gospel means the good news of the Kingdom of God. (Matthew 4:23)

It is the good news that:

“The kingdom of this world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ, and He will reign forever and ever.”
(Revelation 11:15)

This means that a new government is coming to the earth, and it will be ruled by the only perfectly righteous man who ever lived—Jesus Christ.

The prophecy says:

“The government will be upon His shoulders…”
And concerning Jesus:

“He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end.”
(Luke 1:33)

Therefore, the Gospel is about the Kingdom of God coming to the earth. It is about God's will being done on earth as it is in heaven. It is the hope of living in a perfect world, with a perfect body, under the rule of a perfect King.

“Whoever believes”

Whoever believes should believe in the Kingdom of God and His promise that it will come to the earth.

This faith calls us to change our allegiance—to stop living only to serve human kingdoms and worldly things, and instead dedicate ourselves to serving the Kingdom of God.

“And is baptized”

The way we demonstrate our commitment to God is through baptism in water.

Baptism represents a new life—dying to our old way of living and rising to a new life in Christ.

The Bible reminds us:

“Our citizenship is in heaven, from which we eagerly wait for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like His glorious body.”
(Philippians 3:20–21)

Faith must come before baptism. Therefore, biblical baptism is for a person who understands the Gospel and believes it. Infant sprinkling is not the baptism of faith that we see demonstrated by the early disciples.

A Glorious Hope

What a wonderful hope it is to think about living and reigning with Jesus in a perfect world, with an immortal body, forever!

Therefore, let us not keep this good news to ourselves.

Go! Preach the Gospel. Teach others about the Kingdom of God. Share the hope of the return of Jesus Christ and the coming Kingdom that He will establish on earth. 🙏🏽
