Given that Ebola Virus Disease has no known medical cure, awareness on the mode of transmission and prevention of the disease remains a very useful tool for combating the disease. In Liberia, denial of the existence of the virus and access to limited accurate information about the disease is a major challenge. In rural areas, traditional practices such as bathing and touching dead bodies as well a

s providing personal care for sick family members outside of healthcare facilities continue unabated in the wake of threat that EVD poses. In areas where EVD deaths have occurred, fear and stigmatization have been developed towards sick persons due to the lack of proper information about the disease. This has led many persons, including healthcare workers, to abandon sick persons, leaving them to die from other non EVD related illnesses. Consequently, it is obvious that the need to expand or increase the public’s access to accurate and concise information about the disease has become more compelling. As religious institutions play a pivotal role in every society, it has become necessary for their immediate intervention through the dissemination of accurate information about the disease in both affected and unaffected areas. The Seed of Abraham Christian Center of Liberia therefore envisions its participation and inclusion in the ongoing EVD Liberia eradication initiatives. This is crucial and rewarding and should be promoted and supported, as this would increase information coverage about the disease among the public, particularly at the household level in communities.
