"Keep Connected to Jesus"
John 15:1-10

Introduction: Today marks the third message in our 2026 Light series. In the first message, we were encouraged to turn on the light of Jesus Christ in our lives. Last Sunday, we it took a step further by encouraging us to shine the light once it’s turned on. We understand that it’s good to accept Jesus Christ as our personal Savior, but it’s equally important that His light is reflected in our lives. How? 1) By demonstrating faith in Jesus alone, 2) by practicing righteousness and truth, and 3) through obedience. Where? 1) In our homes and communities, 2) in the church, and 3) in our workplaces and schools. When? 1) During good times and 2) during bad times.
Today, we will take another step: a light must stay connected to its power source in order to remain on and shine brightly. Our message today is meant to help us understand why we MUST keep connected to Jesus and how keeping that connection affects our entire being.

“Shine the Light”
(Matthew 5:14-16)

Introduction: In our previous message, we focused on turning the light, bringing the light of Jesus Christ into our lives. We learned that turning on the light helps us see our surroundings, allows others to see us, helps us find our way, and protects us from dangers.
However, it is one thing to turn on the light, and it is another to shine the light. How bright is your light when you turn it on? Do you really see clearly around you and ahead? Do you have spiritual understanding? Are others seeing Jesus in you? It is important to accept Jesus as your personal Savior, as many of us do profess. But it is also very important that your life shines the Light so that others can see Jesus in you.
In our message today, we will focus on shining the light of Jesus Christ in our lives. We will see how to shine the light, where to shine the light, and when to shine the light of Jesus in our lives.

For the past two and a half years, Temple Baptist Church has been holding Bible studies in Dennis Town. As God has blessed those Bible studies, we realized that there was a need to establish a fundamental Baptist church in this community. On January 11, 2026, Temple Baptist Church formally established a new church in Dennis Town, by the name of Prayer Baptist Church. This new church is pastored by Solomon Jefferson Lloyd Sr., and we are excited to see what God will do in and through Prayer Baptist Church in the future.

As Temple Baptist Church prepares for the opening of Prayer Baptist Church, it was necessary that a man be ordained to lead the new church. In this service, Pastor Benjamin Reimer gives a clear message concerning the Biblical Basis for Ordination, explaining the Power, Priority, Process, and Purpose of Ordination. To conclude the service, the TBC family lays their hands on the Lloyd family in ordaining Pastor Lloyd and sending them out into the ministry that God has called them to.
